Sorry to chime in late,

I've run T2's and brembo pads on FTO's in the past so that's what I want to go with.

Never used spares box but their website throws up two parts numbers for front rotors for an 09 VRX.
417S and 2422S.
I had been price shopping for 2422S but now I'm massively confused.

Can anyone confirm the correct T2 part numbers for front rotors on a 2.4 VRX? Mine is also a March 09 build.

Cheers!

My VRX is also an early 2009 build, I know at some point in that year there was a change.

But here are the parts I got - T2 and brembo pads.

And fitted!

417S was upto late MY09 I believe, technically there is little difference between the two. Maximum and minimum thickness is one, tables below show the rest, and interestingly enough the Ralliart Rotors are the standard fitment for many VR-X models, but aren't listed as such, nor is a rear rotor for the RA. The rear rotor in our cars isn't even listed in that table not sure of the age of that list.

The only issue I have with my need brakes are the pads, they work best when warmed up, so on short drives or when you first set off they are not very good. I mean they come on very sharp, nothing then bang you stop, most noticeable at slow speeds.

I'll keep them for now but might consider changing the pads if they don't improve.

That said the work great, not done any tests but stops really quickly and had no issues in normal use while away one the recent 10000km trip.

Anyone recommend some DBA pads for the VRX?

Welcome to the wonderful world of brake pads.
As a general rule of thumb the OEM pads are the pick of the bunch. They will give decent "bite" when cold.
However if you took them to a track and give it a decent run , you will find the brakes.will fade at a reasonable pace.
There's a few things you can do that can improve things in the braking department.
Change and flush the entire brake fluid system about every two years.
Get rid of the rubber hose brake lines it came with off the factory production line with and drop in ADR approved brake lines.
And swap pads.
If your doing short trips regularly , you can't beat the OEM pads for that.
Different brands of pads will effect your braking system in different ways.
You will find a semi metallic pad from Bendix will perform differently to say a semi metallic pad from Protex or Brembo or who ever else.
As you have discovered some pads do take a while to warm up to give great results.
However , not all pads need this eg OEM
From memory the organic pads are what's used by OEM but don't quote me on that as I'm not 100% certain.

Fluid was done at the last service a few months ago, before the trip but as with most long distance highway drives you're not using the brakes as much as daily stop start around town, so the first 10k have been pretty light on brake use.

Being considering the brake lines also.

Hey all, I need to buy new front rotors - Repco said there's two sizes for the 2013 CJ Sport Lancer - 276mm or 294mm. I've scanned a few threads, it seems like the smaller 276mm is it. Can anyone confirm for me or point me to a reference to confirm it? I really can't be f-ed taking off a wheel today to try and measure haha

Get off your bum and measure the diameter yourself that's the only way to be sure.Scroll up a few posts and look at the listing it's there as plain as day.VRX and Ralliart have the bigger rotor and the rest have the smaller rotor

If your wheels are stock the centre of the Mitsubishi diamond is in the centre of the wheel
No need to take the wheel off
Measure the radius from the centre of the diamond in the wheel and then multiply the Radius by two and Presto

Not being shirty about it mate you're the one who couldn't be bothered to check your own car.The only way you'll learn anything is to do it yourself.

Well after a 60 hour week I didn't have the energy to be out doing stuff in the garage. I asked here for a confirmation so I could order them, and you're calling me lazy. But yeah cool, good on ya.
