Just a thought...

Postby Metalstrix » Sat May 11, 2013 7:39 pm

Hey guys.

I have a question to you all and I want your opinions on a thought I've had for a few weeks now. I've already spoken to SIX420 about this, but now I want all your opinions.

When I bought my 08 lancer last year in October in 2012, back then, I had no knowledge of cars. Never got into them during primary school, high school, TAFE etc. Even worst, I didn't even know there were better models of lancers like the VRX, Aspire, Ralliarts etc. I only knew of ES's and VRs. (SIX420 can say it all for you "Tomo, You're laaaaame") Yes yes I know. Only until I joined this forum I've learnt so much about lancers and the modding too.

I had a thought the other day, that I was thinking of selling my lancer and going for a 2010 (or 2011) VRX.

Reason being is because

1. I want to go Manual instead of CVT
2. I want the 2.4L
3. Wanting a younger model since mine is ancient
4. Wanting to get 18" Wheels and replace them with some awesome rims I've found.
5. When the new lancer comes out, if my VRX still has low Ks on it, might be worth more when trading it in.
6. So I can choose a colour I like.
7. Because I want to paint mine all pink and compete with fizzlefuzzle, nah just kidding. ;)

Even better, I can also take my tail lights, my angel lights and every other mod I've done with me, except the spoiler.

Do you think it would be worth selling my lancer at 91.7kms and saving for a short period of time for a VRX 2010-2011 instead? Even though mine atm is due for a service and I may have to replace 1 of the OEM tail lights? Or should I just keep it and keep modding it up until the new lancer comes out?
They will learn... I will always be a step ahead

It's looking good at the moment with my decision.

The only issues I'm facing atm is taking off the Fender vents.
And the service. Should I pay the service too mark?

Sounds like a good plan if you can get a decent amount back for your car either selling private or trading.....2.4 manual is amazing from being in marks sportback and you can get a vrx for a decent price for a '10 '11 model all depends how much you can afford but as you said great thing is you can bring most of your mods with you just not the tail lights if you buy a sportback....can hear mark going buy a sportback pleeeeease :D

Good luck with the decison making :)
