2012 Lancer VRX

Hi all,

Hopefully getting a brand new 2012 VRX (manual) as my first car.
Dad is trying to negotiate a great deal for me (I have to pay part for it).
I am hoping that the sale is done ASAP as i want to improve my manual driving skills as we have no manual car at home. I turn 18 in January.

I want the car to be Lightning Blue. Hopefully when i get it, i can return here with some pics. Also i want to do some MODS to it. Hope the parents don't mind :P

Also, when you guys bought your cars, what did you get thrown in. What should i try for....?

good choice in car. i got a 2011 one. power is quite good, and well lets face it. It's the sexiest looking car out there!

I also love how the 2012 model has the reliant bumper. This is something that i wanted to change if i got a 2011.

Thanks for that.

Reading up on the Mitsu site, I've noticed that the VRX now has:
Heated Seats
Reversing Camera and Sensors (Standard from the VR) - The screen comes up on the rearview mirror (Like on the ASX)

Looking at the colours listed in the brochure, it states:
Cool silver
Warm silver
Titanium

Does that mean no more Effect Grey? Or did they just renamed it?

Get the orange burst in the VRX - then it's unique and really says its 2012.

Except for the 2011 SXs in Orange Burst :P

Lightning Blue is a great choice Christian. Loving mine heaps. That blue is getting rather popular now though. I'm still the only Lancer in my small country town that colour but there are heaps of other cars in the same blue. All the rest of the Lancers are Mystic Blue (quite a few of them), Silver, Black and Red.

I like having a colourful car. Orange, blue and red all fit the bill for me. I was going to get the black off the lot when I got mine but decided to wait the extra few days for the blue. So happy I did. She's filthy at the moment and you can't notice it that much. If it was black it would be disgusting. Red shows the dirt too. My maroon 121 shows the dirt.

The VRX is definitely a nice looking car and with the Ralliart front it will be even better.

But there aren't any orange VRX's or just get one of the new colours. I really like the orange because of the glow it has. Hence the name rotor glow I guess.

The other new colours are really only different variants of a silver. There are way too many silver cars on the road now. I reckon it's overtaken white as the most popular colour.

Yeah I know there are no other Orange VRXs. I was only being a smarty.

When I got the SX it wasn't on the colour cards or website but apparently it was available. There was one on the lot a few weeks after I got mine and there were a few on Carsales that the dealers were getting rid of and they were saying they were 2010 plated ones. I got my 2011 plated blue one in February.

When I said to hubby that I would have considered it he told me that he wouldn't have so I wouldn't have got it anyway :( Might be my car but if he didn't like it he wouldn't have bought it for me. One of the reasons I wasn't allowed to get a Mazda 3. He hates them even though I was only going to buy Mazda at the start because I've only owned Mazda for 26 years. Glad I wandered over the road to the Mitsubishi dealer :)
