How much can I expect to pay for an EvoX?

Postby Frostlord » Tue Sep 03, 2019 5:34 pm

I'm looking to upgrade from my 2017 lancer and buy myself an Evo X, possibly MY09 - 13.
I know there would be a lot of variables, but I'm trying to get a rough estimate how much can I expect to pay on average for one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I'd say $33k - $45k depending on how many k's and what condition it is in.
Interest rates for finance would be 9-11% over 5-7 years. Lower interest rate for a younger car..
And running costs depend on how much you drive the car and what mods it already has or what mods you do to it :D
There's a few decent ones getting around at the moment, they come up on Carsales.com all the time.

Thanks for the info.
I thought that's what the price would be but when I called up my insurance company to get a quote how much it would cost me to insure the car, they told me that they would not insure it for $35,000(the price of a 2012 model I found) because according to their quote, they are only worth $18,000.

Call ‘Enthusiast’ for your insurance. Mine is covered for $34k. None of the other companies would go above $15k for coverage... Shannon’s are expensive.

There is a large difference in what insurance companies value a car as to what they are really worth
Evolution X MR+ Lancer VRX Sportback +LA Lancer GSR

According to AAMI my 09 VRX is worth about $7500 if it was written off or stollen.
Which is kinda sad considering I'm about 3-4 months from paying it off.
5 years ago I paid $15k for it, not including interest and other charges on the 5 year loan.

That's life
After about 20 years of depreciation it will start to inflate again as it becomes a classic.

The CC coupe was heart breaking to see go, owned that from new for over 20 years (didn't become a classic) original dealer cost about $24k in 93, sold for $800 and left on a trailer :(
