NEW MEMBER VIC looking for advice!!

Postby KingBushh » Thu Dec 10, 2015 11:26 pm

Gday, pleasure to meet you all, i'm Nathan and ive just bought a 2012 Lancer Activ. Looking to begin modding but not interested in performance related mods at the moment as i'm on my P's and not interested in losing my license or car so focusing on visual mods until i get my full license.

Lancer is a dark red, not sure how to put images into a post but they are in my garage, thinking about Plasti Dipping the chrome ring around the grill as well as badges in matte black. Was also thinking about dipping the side skirts, wing and below the grill on the front guard to give it the ralliart look and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what would look good.

I've plastidipped my chrome ring and front bumper lip. If your bad at masking like me then I'd recommend just removing the chrome lip and spraying it separately. The lower front lip is pretty easy to mask. I didn't do the side skirts but it's such a large area I'd just get them paintied. Also welcome.

Cheers for that advice Swerve. Was also thinking of changing up the body kit and either a matte black hood or same colour red which ever looks best. Is the body kit on yours aftermarket or is that stock with plasti Dip?

My cars got aftermarket spoiler, hood and rear bumper the rest of the panels are stock. I've just always paid for my stuff to be painted properly. It looks better and I don't have to worry about redoing it again. There's a few lancers driving around here with black hoods to be honest I'm not a big fan I personally prefer colour matching the panels so they look stock. Although I have got matte black/gloss black accents on the rear bumper and spoiler. Plus black vents in my hood.
