My engine cover. This is the 2nd one I've done. I got bored with the last one and re-painted it. No doubt I'll get bored with this one soon and do another :P

Yes, yes... lots of pink!

Time for some yellow!
Image

Still have more to do and would like the MIVEC black again, any recommendations on brush on paint to use? The yellow is left over paint from doing my brakes, so heat proof.

UPDATE - still after info on the type of paint which is best for this work, I used heat proof brake paint but was looking at brush on the do the MIVEC in black. Yes I know I should have just spent more time masking it up but didn't.

I've always loved this one from Scorpion Motorsports - EBay Store
But for $254.93  even with Free Delivery  ...... They can "KEEP IT"

Otherwise I'll wait for the AUD$ to reach or pass parity with the US$ .... *cool*

Hi Lancer 1993, Just use normal paint I've used spray pack paint on a previous car. Was still as painted 7 years later. I recon paint would have as high or higher resistant to heat than the plastic your painting.

Alternative. Very carefully rub off existing paint on MiVEC with brake fluid on a rag over your finger be careful though don't let the brake fluid touch any paint you don't want affected.

Thanks for the info, and yes if normal paint is gonna blister or lift on the plastic covers then the plastic wouldn't last. Only used the Caliper Yellow as I had it left over. I have a few ideas to improve the look a little more, just need the time to do it.

BTW I agree with some of those custom covers, the one I posted earlier looks great and I've been to the place that makes them near Maroochydore. He does good work but over $200 its a bit much. This place uses hydro dip to get the carbon look.
