That is the best deal I've seen for a fully engineered kit and an absolute bargain, you can upgrade to six pot calipers for another $350.00

A brand name set of six pot calipers and evo x rotors for under $1350 is an absolute steal.

Saw these a while back, seem like an alright option, however the Evo X rotor is 30mm larger in diameter. I think there was some discussion about these on evox forum and one guy was using them as they were lighter weight or something. There was a pic comparing them to an evo x caliper i think and they were much smaller

Those PB Brakes look sick, never heard of them better depending on shipping it's pretty well the same price as the MRT front kit. But so many more options.

Oh shit, was just looking them up they are a "UK" company called phatboy and it's all made in Taiwan. They have been getting banned
From forums in the UK for lots of false claims. Check out some of the Toyota 86 forums. Very cheaply made apparently.

damn... :( that sucks! I saw all the options they had and i thought that these guys might be doing something good here...

Might go check it out - although in saying that i did read one forum and it was all trolling. Got tired of reading it as no one actually had bought a set and have tried it. just a lot of people saying its crap because its not a big named brand.

yeah I read a lot of that too, look up Alliance Brakes too, they are the exact same kit just with Alliance written on them, Some happy people lots of people wishing they just went with known brands like Wilwood, Stoptech etc. I think the easiest option is the MRT kit, which I'm probably going to end up going with.

check this out. what do you guys think?

Personally... i'd love to have a set of Brembos. Just because :P unfortunately its way out of my budget. And having changed rotors and pads already its not something I am going to invest in for a while at least. On the plus side, the pads and rotors have a marked improvement on the stock setup

I still don't trust it, I'd rather use something that is known to be good and actually made for our cars.

Apparently these guys have a AP brakes kit that fits standard Ralliart wheels

http://www.vsport.com.au/

No idea on cost however.

Looking at the other AP racing kits for Subaru and Evo it's probably safe to say the kit would be $3-3.5K

TMR big brake kit

Postby El-Diablo » Wed Jan 22, 2014 5:42 pm

TMR make an AP racing kit on Evo x disks that's fits under the standard rims.

Basically what you need is the mounting brackets and you can buy post mount calipers to fit.

the evo x Brembos have a cast mount and require either an adaptor plate or the evo x stub axles.

Wilwood have a very good reputation and its not the size of the calipers that count its the type and construction twin opposed pistons as against the standard floating type.

The MRT brake kit uses PBR calipers with an adapter plate for a while it was possible to buy the calipers from the states extremely cheaply but you need the adapter plates made.

The calipers are corvette c5 calipers but are not opposed piston type just a large contact area and piston floating type.

I personally would buy the wilwood kit if you want bang for the buck.

I'm getting my rotors machined today, fitting QFM pads and race fluid. Will see what sort of difference it makes.
