Door Pillar Carbon Wrap

Postby Lancer1993 » Sun Feb 08, 2015 5:41 pm

I'm looking at options to give my VRX a different look and saw these carbon wrap strips for the B pillar window frames.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LANCER-EVO-C ... 3cba649368

But at $220 they are ridiculously expensive just to have 'Lancer' on them.
Has anyone tried making their own, what's the best approach. Make a template and precut or stick them on use a sharp knife to trim them off to fit?

Currently there is a small dent in the drivers B Pillar window frame so part of this is to cover it up, or make it less obvious. I was considering just painting that one after sanding and filling but thought some carbon wrap would be enough to hide the dent.

In the long run I want to add carbon wrap to other parts of my black VRX to break up the dark gloss color. Maybe even wrapping the bonnet, roof and boot.

I might try the carbon wrap, I have some lying around and if it doesn't work I can alway paint it later.

Should I lay the carbon wrap under where the weather shields will be stuck down?

My vrx has old faded carbon trim so I ordered a set from the US for $40. Ofcourse they didn't fit when I got them... so I bought a big sheet of cf vinyl and I'll just cut it to shape. Haven't tried yet though.

Carbon fiber book covers, now there's an idea... wouldn't put it on the kids books as there would probably get bashed up on the way home LOL

To get the best out come would be remove any thing around wear u want to wrap so u cover the hole area then when u put the parts back on there is no edge and u end up with a nice clean look

The rubber the glass slides in should come out easy with the window down?
