For about $800 you can buy new pads and rotors off these guys delivers to your door to fit out not one but two Lancers!

$250 per end, so $500 total?

But I like the look of the other ones, its the same style 'slot' or what ever they use in the Supercar series, so in my mind they should work better

As a general rule of thumb the rear end is cheaper then the front to get new rotors/pads

Are they a directional design, so left and right?

I'll keep them in mind but I would like to hear from anyone who has experience with the Vmax ones? Over all they shouldn't be much more than $600 for the 4 rotors and pads.

I'll also be asking the dealer where I get my service if they fit parts I supply and how much, while I like DIY and should be able to do the job its not something you want to cut corners on.

And no doubt an equally impressive price tag to go with it

Maybe get the angle grinder out to modify the stock ones LOL

On the cross drill v slots or dimples I was told the reason racing cars don't cross drill is it weakens the rotor, slots are much better and its not the slots but the internal vents that matter when it come to mounting them. That said most there days are made to fit either side.

Also is there any option to fit vented rotors on the rear without changing the whole setup? Not that its needed on a FWD Lancer like mine.

Don't forget when racing your brakes will get one heck of a work out very dissimilar to the street
And depending on what kind of racing it is will depend on what the rotors/ pads are made out of in the first place as.well.
If there is a vented rear rotor for the rear I haven't come across one
Mind you I haven't deliberately gone out of my way to find one nor seen one in my searching I have done
However
This isn't to say they don't exist
If your really serious I suggest you get some RA front calipers of a wreck and shove those under the front and some decent rotor/pads as previously mentioned
All the info you need about that is on this forum via searching

Wait I thought the 2.4 VRX had the same size callipers as the RA, some of the sites I've checked list the RA and VRX for the same size rotors.

Don't like my VRX needs better brakes as such, I've never had an issue with them and not planning on using it as a track day car.

Ralliart calipers are twin piston whereas the VRX is a single piston caliper

RA and VRX have same rear calipers. 2.0 NA (ES, etc.) rear brake pads WILL NOT fit in a VRX (except probably the MY08 as that wasn't the 2.4L from memory).

Does anyone know if the RA front calipers (twin piston) would just bolt onto the hub of a 2.4L VRX? I hadn't really considered it, but if you could get a cheap set second-hand, it may be an easy upgrade. If you take your car to a mechanic for new brake pads obviously it's going to make their life more difficult though haha.

Thanks for the clarification.

I'd only do a RA upgrade if the price was right and the timing, right now its not needed.
