Ralliart brake ideas?

Curious about upgrading my brakes with little cost.. I know this has been covered numerous times before. Is there any difference with aftermarket pads on the stock rotors or do you need to upgrade the rotors too? Will dot4 fluid make any difference also? What are your setups your running right now?

I think I will just get the QFM HPX pads and be done with it.. I dont really want to spend much but it will be a while before I consider doing it anyways.. unless someone talks me out of it :P

Bendix Ultimate pads and replace all the brake fluid with Super Dot 4.

while the brake fluid does not directly increase braking power, it has a far higher boiling point than the stock Dot 3 fluid used in our cars. what this means is that when the brakes get hot the pressure from the fluid remains more consistent.

if your really wanting to increase braking performance slotted rotors are a good way to go.

yeah, the better pads, HPX or better like REMSA and some dot4 600 fluid is all u need for anything but trackwork imo.

I need something too - my brakes were cooking after coming down Kangaroo Valley
MAP EF2 turbo , DW65 fuel pump, ID1000 injectors, EvoX FMIC, UR dump pipe, 100 cell cat, CP-E Exhaust, aFe air filter...and mud flaps!

Are you running stocks still?

I upgraded mine after a near collision with a truck pulling out in front of me going at 5km/h when i was going at 100km/h *&^# that was scary

Anyway I've upgraded all my to RDA slotted/dimpled rotors, EBC greenstuff pads, Braided lines as well as Penrite Racing brake fluid.

The Brake fluid has a higher boiling temp so makes it a bit better then other Dot 4 brake fluids from Penrite. The whole setup gives better pedal feel and i believe that stopping distance has shortened up as well. Definitely feels a lot better then stock thats for sure.

Braided lines are good. Also depends on how much you willing to spend.

Well think of it this way...

You have really good pads, they you will chew out your rotors..
or vise versa.

Changing brake fluid , you wont feel anything. If you want to eliminate the spongy feel get BRAIDED BRAKE LINES. They are about $140 from memory for the fronts.

Now, Im running Project Mu Spec B pads.. $150.

And got DBA 4000 series T3 Rotors. $165 each. so $330 for fronts.

Thats as cheap as it gets.

It also depends how you drive, if you want pads for normal driving to and from work . and your pads are low. They just get OEM pads or something slightly higher.

But if you like to drive hard like myself. driving through hills, having a good BITE!, stopping earlier. Then you need rotors and pads thats have a high heat temperature.

Now, again if you go too high in temperature it will take longer for it to warm up adn longer for it to brake good. Hence why they use it in racing cause they are doing 200+ km/h. So yeah really from here its up to you.

Changing rotors and pads is easy. I wouldnt cheap out and get new ones. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Im not a hoon or what ever. But ive tested my brakes and everything on the car. Speeds around 160-180km/h. Touch the peddle the slightest, pwoh it just stops with ease! even normal driving, stopping at the lights. You stop earlier :) BRAKES ARE IMPORTANT! You got the power, now stop that power hahah

I got dab 4000 t3 rotors and remsa pads after having rda slotted and red stuff pads and stock pads and rotors. So far the t3s on remsa pads seem a far superior combination. They last so much longer before they start to fade pushing downhill and braking hard than the rda rotors and stock setup. So much more confidence. Very dusty though.

Their is a bloke named Drew on clubralliart.com who designed a 6 pot brembo practically direct fitment kit. I'm considering this once I work out whether my 3rd set of vendor pad will fix my ongoing issues with the ssp/ape kit i received. He seems very knowledgeable though and pretty cheap considering what it is :).
