Eh, so long as the "gear shifting" hand is doing something, doesn't matter how it works since Chris is pretty happy with it.

But it's probably a good bit of info to know how the CVT works anyways in case it somewhat fails and whatnot.

Both are fun to drive, although I still prefer my manual!

The CVT was fun in the hills of what I have driven one as you don't have to worry about the clutch like you do in manuals! The CVT is quicker off the mark from a stopping position although once the manual hits 3rd the manual reals in the CVT pretty quick again! :D

WRONG. The CVT waits for the engine revs to pickup before before properly engaging.
Also the CVT is lower geared so it has a lot higher speed in first gear( belt position) then the manual.
Where the CVT is better/faster is once it is above 60km/h where it will hold the engine revs at the maximum power position.

I find that cvts are slower off the mark...
if you dump the clutch (is that the right term?) in a manual you have that head start
But CVTs seem to hit a point where you feel the extra power/boom if that makes sense. VrrrRROOOMMMM


I have a CVT and I don't mind it (never learnt how to drive a manual)

ive had no dramas with mine yet

There are obvious reasons such as : if you get stuck in traffic often, cvts will be a easier option
- if you want more fun then manual
- cvts can still sound nice with an exhaust..but you will always get that moooooo

no way in hell dose a cvt beat me off the line .... chances are hell will freeze over before a cvt beats me lol

I'll be frank here, just me thinking out loud.

I find it pretty hilarious when everyone here is debating 'how fast can I get my car off the line', when I'm pretty sure:
1. Nearly none of you track the car.
2. Most of us are usually stuck in 60km/h zones. and by the time you hit 60, it's time to slow down at the lights again.

Is it really that much of an importance?
