Evo's themselves aren't cheap, cars in general are cheaper relative to here when taking into account conversion rate. However to them, paying 30-40k for a car is quite a lot of money.

As first I was going to be dismissive and say t's some rich college kid and that Mommy and Daddy will pick up the tab. If you have a have a look at his other videos,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I3qIPlwZLU - seems to be a nice "well to do" 'hood. He has a celica, a suziki bike and an Evo X, with lots of very nice mods.
Also seems to take his car to the drags and try his hand at that too.
However looking at his motorcycle burn-out video,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrlh15ShiZQ - clearly he's not some spoilt college kid - but is older. so clearly has the $$$ to waste. Perhaps some would say more money than sense. But assuming it's his cash and can afford it, good on him for having fun!
OK, so he thrashes an Evo X, something that some can't or choose not to afford. They're rally bred, they're supposed to be thrashed and driven thru mud, gravel and everything else in between. Granted the factory paint job is not made for that sort of abuse, but he's got the cash, so stuff him.
However it saddens me to see an Evo get ruined.

I have to say awesome donuts.....but shame about the paint work. Sould have thought twice before doing that on gravel...on a side note I kind of like the black with orange side vents.
