Turbo CJ Lancer Servicing Complete Thread

*DRAFTING*

Background
Similar to the NA Lancer Servicing Complete Thread, this is the same but for Turbo CJ Lancers i.e. : The RA and Evo X (GSR and MR).

In recent months, there has been more questions about the servicing cost for the CJ Lancer. It would seem from many varied reports that different dealers charge a different amount for their servicing.

There are also a certain set of tasks which need to be achieved at each service.
The dealership mechanics do take advantage of these set tasks and their associated consumables to milk out their profits.

The only consumable in a NA/Turbo Lancer you are bound to retain using is the OEM Coolant during a coolant flush.

You cannot retain your radiator warranty if you provide an 3rd party premix even if it meets Mitsubishi standards.

Here are some of the consumables you can pre-buy::

Now the discounting might seem low, but don't forget that the rebate from you providing these yourselves is massive.

The + in case anyone forgets is + 10% GST PLUS whatever the dealer or service mechanic wants to add on. The rebate amounts I've supplied you are what 2 VIC service dealerships have estimated.

OR
CASTROL LSX 90
@ A$38.95 for 4L from SuperCheap Auto

ok just to clarify something
the the car was serviced at mitsubishi and they provided the radiator coolant it would cost $55
but if you provide it too them yourself its only $35(ccj price) is that what you mean??

I went to a couple of dealership Mechanics to ask. I asked how much they charged on the line for Radiator coolant And it ranged from A$45 - > A$55 + GST.

So if you don't take their coolant and bring your own, you're only paying A$35 for the 5L of coolant.

Thereby saving A$20 or there abouts.

So yes your interpretation is correct.

yes.

For engine oil, I can imagine. They have to buy from a third party i.e. Castrol

But for all the rest of the stock parts like the coolant, I scratch my head.
All they do is carry a bottle from parts to the service bay OR they could even have bought a drum *sigh*

Money making... .

Spare parts sell the product to service at full price, so spare parts makes a killing in profits. Service then sells it to you for the same price they paid, however they make a profit by charging you 6 hours labour at $90/hr when it took a $14/hr apprentice 3 hours to do the job.

Good work Ofey, I think ford is a major shareholder in getag so maybe these filters would be cheaper through ford?

Just a question Ofey, what's the first item for (Auto transmission fluid)?

The RA and X either have SST or manual (if you have a X GSR).

115.00 PLN = 40.0375 AUD
Polish Zloty Australian Dollar
1 PLN = 0.348152 AUD 1 AUD = 2.87231 PLN
