Anyone tried a local Ford dealer yet?

Just checked with my local Ford here in Doncaster, VIC.

He wants A$109 for the same part.

The next question I guess is, can we trust the Poles?

haha well there is always that... if we order 5 then the shipping would be about 5-6 so like 45 each pretty good buy. Nearly worth the risk what does everyone think...?

I would be keen at that price for at least 3 changing the filter and topping up the oil has to be good in the every day running of the SST

Alternatively Chris, why not you just bite the bullet and order 5 yourself?

If you sold them at under < A$100 each, I'm sure you'd get some sales here.

Hey guys I have a question:

My previous car I purchased from new, and always had it serviced every 6 mths regardless of kms. But my current Lancer, the prev owner was slack and serviced it by kms, which I suspect the majority of car owners do - having shopped around and looking at service histories of a number of used cars...

Anyway, the Lancer has extremely low kms for its age: roughly 14,000kms currently, so by distance it's due for 15,000km servicing soon....however it's Feb 2010 first registered, which means it's due for 2.5 year service, which corresponds with 37,500km. Which should be my next service? Do I opt for 15k or 37.5K?

Chi, a dealer will probably do a hybrid service.

At 2.5 years and the low kms, assuming this is a first service, you would do all the mech checks, change engine fluids coolant, oil, brake fluid.

Unlikely to do sst fluid. Not sure about diff oils....check handbook to see what has been missedand just get them all up to date for your safety and peace of mind,.

Hi Peter, I looked in the service handbook, each service interval there's an 'additional items' at the bottom that states change ACD/SAYC hydraulic control system fluid (for severe conditions). I guess it's a probably good idea to get that changed.

Also, the dealer carried out an undocumented service (as it, they never stamped the logbook) when I purchased the car in Feb. When I first took delivery, I've verified that the oil is new, the air filter element has been replaced, and presumably coolant and brake fluid too (although I can't tell new coolant from old; same with brake fluid). These are the items that the handbook says requires replacement at 24 mths regardless of kms. Now I don't know whether to trust that it's good for another 2 years, or replace it needlessly at the next service.
