i used 8l. bought a 20l drum of j1.
first drain 4 plus litres
second drain 3 plus litres.

this was at 70000kms. 7 years in. i am the 3rd owner of the car.
drives much better.
fluid out was not pitch black, quite dark but definitely not the nice green it was in. i did not change the filters either.
Its now done almost 80000kms and the fluid is still a nice green tinge. maybe its just me but it seems to hold the torque better whilst consistently accelerating and keeping the revs past 4k.

there is a guide here in the DIY on how to do it.

You stated Green ? My CVT fluid has always been red when brand new

Different manufacturers use different colours for their fluids

Thanks Adam, I think the 2.4 CVT has 4 cooling lines instead of 2, think I read this a while ago. I will call a few Mitsi dealers and independent mechanics too see what is their view in the cooler filter/pan strainer filter.

Having said that I'm sure I stumbled across a reset of some kind the other day for CVT fluid in something's
I have a feeling it may have been mmcoding writing software where I saw it , but don't quote me on that

I think the CVT cooler of the 2.0 has 2 ports and the 2.4 has 4 but I could be wrong.

The cooler has two coolant ports and two oil ports on either transmission— they are the same.
