Asc and engine light

Postby Lenarose91 » Mon Dec 26, 2016 9:19 am

Hey all,

So I've been having issues with my asc light coming off and on in my lancer 08 vr for a month or so now but every time I've taken it into the mechanics they haven't been able to get a error code off of it, they've just told me it could be just dust on the sensor.
Yesterday whilst driving the engine light came on as well, naturally I pulled up checked everything out and all seems okay, cars idling fine, nothing is leaking and checked all fluids, the car also seemed to drive home fine, not missing or anything. I was just curious if anyone has ran into this issue before and could the engine light be related to the asc light.
Being Christmas time no mechanics are open till tomorrow and I am suppose to get to work tomorrow my cars my only option, don't really have the money for an obd2 scanner especially if something is seriously wrong with the car.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Is your car stock? If yo have mods what do you have?

If its a wheel sensor than it's easy and cheap to fix or replace

With the speed sensor, before to buy a new one, just undo the sensor and give it a good clean with contact cleaner, also clean the area where it sits, sometimes brake dust and dirt build up and cause the sensor not to read anymore. Can't really understand why it trigger and engine light tho
