is $220 a rip off for the 30000km service?

IMHO anything more than $100 is a rip. But I DIY-it so I'm just picky. No warranty issues either.

more info on that man - I'll give u +1 for a week if u write a how-to on making sure u keep ur warranty live while servicing urself (lol - servicing ur car, not urself...)
Not how to service the car, just, do u have to fill in the logbook? or call mitsubishi and say "hey - tick me off on my 30,000 plz I just serviced my car" - what do they actually check for that will void ur warranty, admin-wise, not grease-monkey wise... lol ;-)

I'm DYING to know this cos I wouldn't do the service myself but have heaps of mates who could, so it's an avenue worth persuing, mitsu have enough of my money, I just bought a freekin car off 'em!!!

By law all you need to do is service as per the log book, date it, and write the ODO reading down.

That's it.

And those who doubt me, Mitsubishi honoured ALL my warranty issues on my Mirage and I serviced that all myself. never drove into a workshop, except for the warranty work.

It sounds simple, but that's how it's always been. As long as it's serviced as per the book there will be no issues.

The dealer service once per year is to keep the roadside assist. But I didn't bother as $62 for RACQ is cheaper than $250 for a service anyday. And who provides the roadside service for Mitsubishi? Your local auto club, in my case RACQ.

And I do my own services. Always have, always will.

And for those that are worried about the warranty issues... Factory warranty is NOT affected at all whatsoever.
ive been taking mine to ultratune..they do a good job less money...with that dust storm that we had awhile ago..should i replace the air filter..and if so..can u tell me how...thank u.

I got mine done today,
My car only has 19500KM on it, 2 YO this month..

My dealer quoted all up $350 and I get a small 10% disc and total was 320.

The other dealer closer to me quoted about $420.

:x :x :x

The service is about 200-210 itself but regardless of KM the brake bleed , flush out and new fluid plus the coolant flush and refill make up the rest and are required every 24 mo.

The thing to remember is that Mitsu has to do your service once per yr to keep your roadside assistance for the 5 yrs of the warranty.

They use the auto clubs to provide this in each state. So if I get the service done by a non dealer or a mechanic mate for 200+ I then have to pay the RACWA roadside fee which is over $100 anyway so it comes out basically even over the 1 yr period.

After 3 yrs they have to do an inspection also to verify your warranty out to 5yrs (its in the book)

All these dealers charge too much and as u can see from my figures some more than others so it pays to call around.
