Absolutely spewing

So finally tackled the repair to my car today. Filled the scratch with touch up. Allowed to dry and then went about polishing by hand to level it out
I don't know what I did. But around the repair now The paint is like a hazy colour and in it. There's little freckles of white. Almost as if o went through the clearcoat. I'm kinda gutted. It's still smooth like the rest so doesn't actually feel like I've hit paint. And on testing seems I get red paint but is really probably from the touch up repair. So will I be right even if I've got through the clearcoat as it's still painted and isn't on a panel exposed to the sun. And should I just put my scuff plates on and leave it now

Sorry to hear that, yes I'd just cover them with the scuff plates

How was the weather, if it's too cold or wet you'll have issues. I've painted loads of stuff and sometimes you'll do every thing right but things go wrong.

I'm yet to tackle the scratches inside my door area, might just cover them with some carbon wrap acting as scuff plate. Was a bit lazy this weekend with the V8s on and hope to do some stuff next weekend.

Was perfectly dry actually. Will use a hair dryer to heat the plates up
Alright I'm hoping it will be okay. Puts some stresses to rest I suppose
