I've seen the CJ brakes taken off b4 and when practising changing tyres (something i do with most new cars) I have taken brakes off. Only just got them back on....Haven't changed oil on my car but could probably do it if required.

After reading your posts...thanks by the way....i decided to take it to mitsubishi for them to do the first one...it did costs 220 (including hire car)....but i just had a look at the service invoice and it says this...(i haven't called them about this yet coz they're closed but i will tomorrow..

gasket-dr-plug $ 1.44
oil filter $12.42
enviro Waste Disposal $ 9.95
Penrite PRO-10 10w-30 $11.95
and the rest for mechanical and suspension service and fluid top ups etc.

everything up to the oil is fine.......so they've charged me 11.95 for oil?? so either they put in 1 Litre or its a typo (and if it is then i'll accept the error)....

so i dunno...i'll see what they say..

It'll just be a cheapo bulk bought oil they use....

Castrol Edge is a good oil Azza, won't do you any harm using it. I just prefer Nulon being Aussie made and owned! I reckon give 5W-40 or 10W-40 (they dont do a 0W) from Nulon a go on your next oil change and see how it compares to the Castrol Edge, would be an interesting comparisson. i don't think you'll notice a difference as once the engine is warmed up the viscosity will be the same roughly, but pretty sure Nulon is cheaper than Castrol Edge.

Oh and dont be a pussy, give it a go changing your oil :P

Thanks Ryan, should become a man one day....Or at least not as much of a pussy  . The oil (castrol) costs around $75 at repco or autobarn and $88 at the dealer. The Nulon oil was on sale at supercheap on the weekend. Could have got 6 litres for $55. (Still kicking myself) The difference from the base oil in the system from purchase to the oil now is really noticeable. The induction sound and ride is smoother. Might add a K&N air filter and really see the difference.

Personally I'd get a full CAI and unleash the beast within that RA :P

Yeah the NA CJs had a shit oil in them from factory, I think it runs much nicer on synthetic.

7500 is only for the Turbo (i.e the RAs), the VRX models and below are 15,000. :)

The 7500 service is optional for all models, RA included. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for RAs though

I'd imagine the 7500 for non-RAs would involve a oil change and top up of other fluids? (too far away from my service book).

The 7500 service for all vehicles is just s simple oil and oil filter change. And it is optional.

Never done an oil change in my life, woud considering learning. Can't imagine too hard. Put car on stands, get under car, pop screw thing out, unscrew filler cap on top, let oil drain. pop sump screw back on, fill with favourite virgin olive oil until overflowing, put filler cap back on. voila! :D

Nah I didn't bother. I use good full synthetic oil so 15,000 is fine.
