don't start a war on oils..... Adrian.

I use Castrol Edge in both cars and bikes... never failed me at 270kph...

I would say that its the best value-for-money full synthetic on the market.

just my two bob - but i purchased a pre-mix from the dealer...... $50 or something like that for 5L.... :)

nothing wrong with premix, as long as its dealer recommended!!!

LOL....looks like adrian has a fight on his horizon! yes, it is the mitsu branded stuff :) the guy behind the counter said its what they use on my car, so i'm happy, haven't had any worries thus far. plus, i figured that if they gave me the wrong stuff i'll be up their ar$e and they'll be tasting foot for weeks. lol...

Yeah it will be fine, as tryg said.

Standard cooling systems in cars these days are light years ahead of where they were 15 years ago...

One thing to remember, the coolant gets changed at the 45,000 service, so if you're close to that when you go to the track I'd get the 45,000 done, that way you'd have fresh coolant, fresh brake fluid and also fresh oil and filter.

Thats a good trifecta to bet on if you're off to the track...

Brake bleeds are more common in my garage than the service interval suggests.. I am sure there are others who cripple brakes like me.. so don't be afraid to change out more regularly...

Exactly tryg.

A brake bleed takes less than an hour, and it costs next to nothing. Excellent peace of mind especially for a track day!

Humidity can effect the moisture content in the brake fluid.

I like in a dry state so less likely then the vehicles in Queensland.

The condition of the environment , make a big difference on replacing parts and fluids.

If in doubt change them early.

Cheap insurance on the longevity of your car.

Changing brake fluid is cheap and quick to do.

Well all oils are hygroscopic, and benefit from a change out.. it all comes down to how you play versus how you pay...

An hour Adrian!? Feel free to use my compressor driven pneumatic brake bleeder... I think it takes me about 10-mins... Great for sumps and transmissions too, when you have the right fittings.

Most mechanics still use an apprentice to pump the brake pedal anyway :lol:
