Hi,
Sorry to drag up this old chestnut.
My same fault has been intermittent. Last 8 weeks it has been permanent.
I want to fix it myself but can't find any info on what the actual failure is on the board.
I can send it away for repair at a cost of £300 but if it's a simple reflow or component replace, I can do it myself for free.
Does anyone have any idea what they repair in these units?
Regards.

No i don't know what they fix in it. I imagine there are many components that could fail in the abs unit. It is a field for specialist only. They aren't going to give their secrets away and it's not something anyone should attempt to fix without the relevant tools and qualifications .

Not sure of your location. We are predominantly Australian. I believe there is a workshop in NSW that does the repairs giving a lifw time warranty.

Thanks guys. Sorry, I should have made a better introduction. Yes I am in UK. I bought a Lancer GS4 as a trade in at my work, its an ex CCR UK press car.
Having scoured google for the same issues nobody has ever come up with a DIY fix it seems.
Some useful info on that link Fearful1, thank you.
I am reluctant to open up my unit without some idea on the cause of C2116 faults, as any repair centre will refuse to fix it once tampered with, so the more info I can find the better.

Re: C2116 - ABS Pump Motor Supply Low Voltage
just a note on this thread incase anyone else is googling and comes across this.
I fixed the fault. It was the motor brushes stuck, therefore not supplying power to activate the motor.
I found these Youtube videos very helpful:

https://youtu.be/6m2H-nC0CqE
It was a bit of a fiddle to remove the ABS unit, seperate the pump and reassemble. It's a bit of a bodge but its acceptable. The end result is a working ABS unit and a heap of money saved.
If anyone needs some pointers let me know.
Regards,
Mark

Potentially yes, although tapping mine made no difference, they were that stuck.
Re: C2116 - ABS Pump Motor Supply Low Voltage
It may help, in theory.. no harm in doing it.
The pump does activate breifly on ABS start up check.

Just confirming that a gentle few taps got mine going again.
Didn't need to remove it from the car - the motor is somewhat accessible just behind the air filter box.

Re: C2116 - ABS Pump Motor Supply Low Voltage
I would love to see if I could get the brushes going also to save me a big bill. If anyone could please explain to me where to locate the pump module that would be greatly appreciated. I’m hoping the video links above will let show me how to get the brushes moving again but i just need to know how to locate/get into the module if at all possible. Thanks guys

ABS pump is located behind the LHF strut tower on the firewall.
