I see as pointless, since the gap is basically bridged between Iphone / Android. . . The new iOS 5 Incorporated 200 odd features, some borrowed from android, just as android will do sooner or later. . The problem with Apple is they offered the phone and the update software together... With the body being the same and processor barely receiving that much of a boost, it turned alot of people off. .

My view = Stick to your 4's, update to iOS 5 and wait for the actual 5 in a year.

Agreed. iOS 5 runs on my iphone 4 fine with no lag period, and stable aswell. I dont think the software has come close to maxing out the hardwares capabilities.

Hopfully the 5 will come with an all new updated GUI, otherwise may need to think about windows 8 as my new mobile platform

Unlike most companies Apple doesn't make a hundred different products for every possible market niche. It makes sense for them to refresh the iPhone 4 to keep is relatively competitive against current Androids. I reckon this model is aimed at new buyers who don't have a religious affiliation to one platform or the other, rather than upgraders.

It's also a relatively cheap way to generate some media hype to correspond with the release of iOS 5. Software updates don't tend to warrant a lot of headlines in the mainstream press.

Hmm, as much as i like my apples, Google are making it really hard for me.

Has anyone seen the specs on the Google (Samsung) Galaxy Nexus?

Android 4.0
1.2Ghz Dual core
1gb Ram
4.65" Super AMOLED 720x1280 pixels

I think Iphone may not last past the Iphone 5 unless they pull out something really special
