2nd hand car yards are worse, especially those not set up with a full dealer for shop. With my CJ had wheel issues when I first got it, one wheel had 3 different nut sizes on it, including one I could not find a socket to fit. Too bad if I got a flat on the side of the road before the issue was addressed.

Almost every normal car needs the wheel nuts around 100. The workshop manual for these cars says 98 +/- 10. They were ridiculously overtight from the Oompa Loompas at the compliance workshop.

New headlights in from DPP! They even included the Profile bluetooth powered angel eye colour shifting kit! Can't wait to see how they turn out when fitted, will be selling the Audi style lights I currently have in Image

Yes I noticed yesterday that the wiring grummet was not sealed, not good on the leading edge of the back door. I don't think any water got in.

Tried pulling it out but had to take the door trim off, easier than I thought, 3 screws!

Fixed it.

And trim back on, could have gone to the repair place but Friday afternoon before a long weekend?

Good to see panel beaters attention to detail remain top notch *facepalm*

Today I continued to work on my car. Coming the week ahead i'll be painting it (myself (so not expecting the greatest outcome considering I've never painted a car in my life)).

Look out for my thread coming soon on my progress from start to finish.

Yeah, not seen the need to replace them.

But now I know how easy they are to get to I'll consider it if i find a good deal on them.

How easy are they to wire up, just plug in or do you need to solder?

Hey Craig,

you can get these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Aerpro-APS3 ... 2749.l2649
it will allow you to plug any speaker into the lancer's wiring.
These https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AERPRO-APS3 ... ctupt=true
will allow you to easily mount aftermarket speakers.

Cheers Pete

Thanks for the dangerous post LOL

Any extra money right now is going towards new brakes at the next service.

@Lancer1993 I did it with this method (pliers and solder):

https://youtu.be/eeHb3qnjFQY?t=108

No need to buy *any* adapters.

Edit: Actually, I improved on his method by not cutting the adapter. Just solder about 5-10cm of speaker cables from new speaker to the speaker frame. So the speaker plug from the door just plugs straight back into the frame.

Ps. It will probably won't fit all speaker sizes. But I was able to install these perfectly: Pioneer TSF-1634R 6.5"

I mentioned the adaptor in case Craig doesn't want to destroy the original speakers like i did in my CH which now i have to buy speakers to replace my Type R's when i move them to my CJ next week.

BTW total cost of the adaptors is less the $60 for all four doors.

So now he has both options.

All good man, wasn't dissing. And yes, the hack method does involve destroying the old speakers. Which you may or may not want to do.

When I got my car back from the workshop, after the sauce jars were dropped on it, and the bonnet was resprayed, the LHS washer nozzle has since popped out as the paint is so thick, and the weather strips along the roof the little end caps are broken and loose in there at each end and half the clips that hold them down are broken or missing, all noticed (clips) or happened (nozzle) after the workmanship grace period to get it remedied under "warranty". So remember that all their dodgy workmanship may not be immediately obvious.
