Best-looking Mitsubishis

Postby squala » Sat Aug 25, 2012 4:14 pm

Obviously, our cars will make the list, but there are definitely others around the corner. I'll start and hope to see more posts soon.

Mitsubishi Galant EC series (1996-2003)

Image

No prize for guessing where the design was derived from, but this generation of Galant is, in my opinion, the most handsome. Mitsubishi has managed to build a sharp-looking version of the E39 BMW 5 Series. It also won the Japanese Car of the Year award in 1997. Engines include willing 4-cylinders and smooth V6 units, the best of which being a turbocharged 2.5-litre that is found in the cream-of-the-crop VR4. This variant also includes 4WD, making it somewhat a medium Evo.

PX33

The Mitsubishi PX33 is a prototype passenger car built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the company which would eventually sire Mitsubishi Motors. Commissioned for military use by the Japanese government in 1934, it was the first Japanese-built sedan to have full time four-wheel drive, a technology the company would return to fifty years later in pursuit of motorsport success. Four working prototypes were built, and a version was in development using Mitsubishi's 6.7 litre, 70 PS (51 kW; 69 hp) 445AD powerplant, Japan's first direct injection diesel engine. However, the entire PX33 project was cancelled in 1937 after the government decided to prioritize commercial vehicle development of trucks and buses.

The PX33 received renewed attention as a marketing tool for Mitsubishi during the release of the fourth generation Mitsubishi Pajero. The PX33's historical and technological link to the company's newest sport utility vehicle saw both cars displayed in parallel at the Paris Motor Show in September 2006.

Props to all clean legnums out there. Theyre such a boss car. One of the best wagons around in my opinion. But it's hard to go past the TME for badassery, except for the X of course. Now THERE, is an ass..

Surprised nobody has beaten me to the punch. On my phone so can't upload pic, but:

3000GT/GTO, 97' or there abouts. Goes like stink, looks great and way ahead of its time mechanically/technologically.

I want one :)

Yes, I thought of the GTO too but decided to wait for someone else to post it. It looked miles better than any Skyline but was, unfortunately, nowhere near as successful.

There was also a Spyder version of this car, which popularised the folding hardtop convertible.

I Love pretty much all Evo's but also really think that the old eclipse's look pretty cool. Like the ones in The fast & the furious movies.
