^ Hey thanks, Mizta B 8)

tadz0rz wrote:ive got some of that stuff, or sumthing similar...it says i have to apply it in like 35+ degree heat for it to work propley. But i remember we had it on our old car... really works well

This stuff is applied normally, I think it actually tells you to apply in the shade..

Also try rain-x for external glass, water will just bead off especially good for rear window.

As for the indicator sound, I actually brought it up when I went for a service, bloke told me 'that's how it is' as apparently previous Lancer was too loud & everyone complained about that too! :P

08 ES CVT

1. Driver door plastic bit just under the window rattles when more 'bassy' music is in the 25-30 stock volume range

2. Rear right seat has trouble 'locking'

3. No covers over the storage in the middle (can't keep 'valuables' there)

4. Indicator Lights - I don't mind them being soft but that combined with my prefered steering wheel height means i can't actually see the indicator lights on the display. They are directly in line with the steering wheel. So if I have music on I can't tell if they're on/off unless I move my head to specifically look at it. Sometimes i can't get it in the 'off' position too... it usually just flips to the opposite setting.

5. Mistu outsourced services were poor. ie: tinting

6. I prefer to lock all doors except my own when stepping out of the car. Eg: at servo's. Can't do that anymore.

ps: I like the noise... goes well with the look.

Most annoying would probably have to be the rattle

Haha I came from a coupe style corolla and that was quiet as... not very satisafactory imo :)
I have the curved non vrx spoiler and my rear vision is primo compared to the spoiler on the corolla... previously the spoiler would line up with headlights so it looked like no1 was behind me... don't have to tell you how much weariness that caused me.

But having said all those negative things I'm gonna have to say I wouldn't trade it for any other new car in the same price range.

As mentioned some dynamat in the front doors, and behind the front wheel arch and some additional sound proof matting on the inside of the firewall is required.

CVT noise outweighs the issue with tyre noise IMO.

Paint susceptible to chipping down near the rear wheels (bottom corner of rear doors) (stones get flicked up from the front wheels) The U.S models came with a clear protective film in this area.

Lack of bonnet gas struts.

Radiator cap seems to trap coolant up into the top of the cap above the rubber seal, and when you open it to check your coolant level its drips everywhere!!

driver side window has scratches from poor quality weatherstrip. This has happened even though the vehicle does not have aftermarket tint.

Scratchy interior however the durability in the long term will be second to none.

1. No reach steering adjustment
2. All doors unlock when the driver's door is opened.
3. Handbrake lever far out (surprisingly LHD biased)
4. Boot cannot be unlocked by key.
5. Slipping clutch impression when CVT is floored at '1st gear'
6. Wind noise on driver's window at 100 km/h or higher (I'll have it checked on the first service period.)
7. First fill up showed 10.34 litres/100 km average (I'm still expecting better as the car loosens up).

I noticed that whistling a little bit, but i just pushed the top of the window a little bit and it stoped LOL.

Yeah, i struggle to get mine to around 9l/100kms. But i work mine a bit. Depends on what kind of driving your doing.

This thread has been quiet for agessssss.

The front arm rest is too far back to be a proper arm rest
The arm rests on the doors are too low to be proper am rests
(But ..... maybe Mitsubishi is encouraging better driver habits by encouraging drivers to keep both hands on the steering wheel ... and now I'm used to doing that I can see why the armrests are where they are!)
MMCS is disappointing for the price ... passengers can't access functions while the car is on the move; GPS functions are average (but this may be a Sensis issue)
Cruise control needs a "set" indicator on dash panel
Advan tyres are ordinary at best

But ... apart from those minor niggles ... a great car :)

^^ there is a hack or thing you can do to turn it off so you can access the GPS features n everything like that while you are moving. It might be posted up here actually. Check out the search and see what you can find. Its out there I know that for sure.

Well, here we go.

1. Plastic scraching
2. Rattle in door card, drivers side. Very feint, but it annoys the %^&* out of me.
3. No Cruise "Active" light
4. Auto wipers wipe randomly in the sunlight
5. Stock tyres when I had them
6. Paint chips
7. Bluetooth needs updating to support newer phones
8. Leather steering wheel and gear knob gone glossy (anybody else had this?)
9. Headunit won't return to AUX mode when switched back on again.
10. Tinny exhaust note. (Has gotten better with age though)
11. WEIGHT

That'll do for now.

1. Beeping alarm when driving without seatbelt on!!
2. Interior plastic easily scratches
3. AUX mode resetted back to radio once the car is turned off and on again
4. Blackness of my car attracting so much dirt :(
5. scraping the hell out of my bodykit
6. paint chipping from tiny stones
7. cruise control not really user friendly
8. no arm rest :(
9. glass shaking a tiny bit when doing over 100km when the window is open not all the way down (dont know if this is just my car problem )
