Found this on the internet, the inside cam view of the Bel Air shows the true impact to the driver. Scary stuff.

Lol the second link by sebastian. The way the air bags deploy themselves makes me laugh. I don't know why. But at least it's good to know how effective our bags are

It is impressive how good modern cars perform these days. If anything they can be worse in minor accidents but in major ones its almost like you're driving a bomb shelter covered in springs :P

Actually that side pole impact on the lancer is the one that impresses me the most...

Of course they probably weren't going for safety back in 1959 haha.

A good indicator of crash worthiness is always to look at the doors and whether they are distorted.

With that in mind, I don't think I'll be buying a 1959 Bel Air.
