I tried to start the car today, but the battery is flat again.

Obviously my solar panel is not keeping the battery charged.

there has to be a reason for that, a car battery cant just go flat for no reason when the car is off. its not meant to draw power out when the car is off. do you have any extra things you have added onto your battery?

why dont you charge your battery, then put a clamp meter over the cable, and see if anything is being drawn out of the battery when the car is off, (by off i mean fully off, turned off and interior lights timed out)

All the trouble has been since I fitted the folding mirrors.

I go months without driving though.

How exactly do i measure the power being used. I have a volt meter.

What would be normal?

Thanks for your help Blakey, much appreciated in advance.

its it a volt meter or a multi meter? if you have a multi meter you should be able to do it also, but a Volt meter wont be able to.

this is a multimeter if yours looks like this then that will work. Image

Well not today but early Saturday morning...

Driving on the Gold Coast highway when I noticed a warning on my instrument cluster...

"Possible Icy Roads"

Seems if the ambient temperature is < 3 degrees you get this warning. You learn something new everyday :P

Oh and I'm also investigating a vehicle upgrade  but no promises lol
