Thanks for the honest feedback Mike - sometimes it's hard to see the reality when dealing with the thought of your dream car! lol. :)

The main thing for me is the smaller car loan though, i could always upgrade again in a few years when i've paid off my other debt. I would however hate to think i would be that uncomfortable driving the Evo, that can't be possible? But then as you say it may just be one of those things that's better in theory... plus the always manual thing doesn't do that much for me either to be honest! SST is a good compromise.

I'd have to go test drive a VII, coz as you say the X is different entirely.

I did have a CH Lancer ES prior to the RA and whilst it wasn't exactly a crap car, there's no comparison to the CJ! :)

Hmmm, maybe i just have to save money some other way. Sigh.

Do your self a favour - don't. You will be either disappointed or will buy regardless of the flaws.

I wish i had been able to have the evo for like a month prior to buying it. The rose coloured glasses are firmly on while driving the dream and you overlook stuff that will niggle in a years time... I would have gotten an MMCS for one thing!

Its a great car for sure but i still think the RA is perhaps the best of both worlds
I have a 3 year old son who KNOWS i should drive faster! So why do i get fined?!?

I'll pay to put MMCS in mine and then we can swap? :D

But yeh I wouldn't be going for a VII, an IX maybe but not one as old as the VII. I can definitely understand your "dream car" reasoning though :)

Just got home.
Guy in a falcon was giving me sh*t.
I was waiting to turn at some lights on tonkin. He was behind me. I hadn't done anything. Hadn't even overtaken him on the way, hadn't been speeding, nothing.
I turn, he follows and flies past me on the outside lane. I wasn't really paying attention, but he either gave me the finger out his window or pointed at my lane (telling me to race him?). Anyway he took off, he was probably doing about 110 in an 80 zone.

He caught up to cars in the left lane and got slowed down and we went through a 2 lane roundabout at about the same time. He was slightly in-front and when we were through the roundabout he cut into my lane without indicating (I had to brake not to hit him, he was about 30-50cm in-front of me). So hes now in the right lane infront of me, and I could see him point to the left lane in his car.

So I'm guessing he was trying to race me? I hadn't done anything to provoke it, and my car isn't even sporty looking.
And even if I was that easy to bait, there was traffic, neither of us could have done anything, idk wtf he wanted.

don't worry Jake, they are just jealous :P People who behave like that in traffic (or at all really) shouldn't be allowed on the road. That is what the police should be spending their time on. Get rid of the idiots and speed wont be a problem.

I had some clown in a commodore yell something at me while I was just driving along normally. No idea what he said, but I'm guessing it wasn't nice

another one of Perths best drivers..

not much we can really do except ignore them unfortunately, maybe one day they will crash doing something stupid.

Something I want to do is buy a cheap old bunky car ($500ish or even less) and put third party on it, buy a driving recorder and drive around normally and wait for some d-bag to do something stupid like cut me off, but instead of me braking i'll just keep doing the limit and if they hit me they can be liable for all damages as video proof will have them in the wrong...

I wouldn't be confused if it was some young guy in a xr6 or above but he looked 40/50 and it was a champaign coloured xt. So it wasn't even a sporty falcon =/

It made me feel it was roadrage or something but I hadn't done a thing...

It did have a huge FORD sticker on the windscreen and a 'The closer you get the slower I go' sticker on the back though (aren't those stickers for people who drive slow, not fast?)... Some people are just idiots =/

That was kind of harmless fun though (its more fun owning a lancer when you know people don't like it anyway :P). I hate it when people actually cut you off etc. I wish I did something wrong so I actually knew what was happening

I think he was trying to tell you to move into the left lane because he wanted to drive fast in the right lane? You know how certain types of drivers think it's their God given right to drive at any speed they want in the "fast" lane? How dare you do the speed limit Jake, don't you know any better??

Nice pic btw Graham, i love car porn, haha :D
