Car rally cruise alternative?

Postby Mooman » Tue Jan 19, 2016 7:11 am

Has Club CJ ever done a social car rally? You know the kind of events organisations do for fund raising where you have a set of clues for navigation with a list of scavenge items and puzzles etc.

It would be a good alternative to the standard cruise and encourage people to team up and see how others cars are on the road.

Yes I have done these with various clubs I have been with and even organised one many years ago. Also did rallying (the sound of angry cars at night) with CCRMIT but alas it is a young persons sport and you need plenty of bucks to keep the car running

I had a Datsun 1600
180B engine bored out to just under 2litres
2 twin 45 webers
extractors
180B 5 speed gearbox
240k Diff
full roll cage and harness

that was one sweet car (till thieves stripped it while I was at work) cried for a week All I had left was a shell pretty much

still had my LC lancer tho

I still dream of getting back into rallying but the budget says no. It is screaming at me because of my plans to mod up the CJ I now own :)

There is also motokana events too. I also did a advanced safety drivers course at Shepparton ( organised by the club I was with at the time)

Plenty of options out there
