Love the car - so happy to keep it as long as its returned to the condition it was in prior to the hail.

Just hope any repairs aren't rushed due to the volume of cars that need to be repaired.

Time will tell :)

Yep, rushed repairs are my main concern too.

Think I got lucky with mine; was in the carport when the storms came through and didn't get a scratch (lucky too: it was only 2 days old at that stage too).

My folks Capri convertible didn't fare so well: roof ripped to shreds, in about 8 different pieces now. Not to mention the bonnet looking like it was at a golf range.

I dont know how it took them so long to schedule my assessment and repairs. I lodged my claim on the 26th and i have to wait till 29th of May. Where as my dad lodged his on the 27th Dec, he's going to get his car fixed in 3 weeks.

$4600... well at least it's repairable which is the main thing... i keep thinking how much worse it could have been.

Yeah I don't know about the wait time difference I didn't ring for a couple of days and was booked in for assessment the first Wednesday in the new year. Went in there and they said 7th of February!! I was surprised that it was so soon.

One major company has got specialists that have been flown in from the US to speed up the paint less dent removal of cars.

Sorry to hear about your cars.
Love that car!

Lucky for my lancer, our insurance company approved my choice of repairer quote so I don't have to wait in line. Our BMW on the other hand got our choice of repairer quote rejected and have to wait till early April!

The guys that RACV has fixing mine are from NSW i believe.
Not quite sure about the priority list though. Maybe it has to do with how long you've been a member

Just brought my car in for it to get fixed this morning...the guys fixing mine are all the way from America! I brought it in at 8am and they said it should be ready by 5.30pm.

I'm a bit skeptical about that...haven't heard of a job being done within 1 day. Hopefully it's not a rushed job!

Hey guys,

Thought id post up my experience aswell from the Christmas Hail

Ended up getting my year old Activ assessed in Geelong (Didnt want to wait) on the 11th of last month and was deemed to be repairable ..... quoted $10,000 to fix
Unbelieveable..!!

Had heaps of dents + what made it worse was that 4panels had actual paint come up/chipped away Bonnet, Boot, Roof and Pillars

Supposed to get new bonnet, Boot Lid and Roof Skin with FULL re-spray
Well thats whats on the aami quote rang the panel beater reakons car will
only get the metal parts re-sprayed does this seem right..??

Also x1 other little problem LOL
Had the front windscreen replaced with a aftermarket screen ( which i tried to push for genuine )
After they had left and gone i noticed that on the bottom right under the reg sticker there was a cut out
on the behind black backing of the glass to indicate VIN number But mine doesnt have it located there so it looks like a dodge car...

After cracking the shits with AAMi they are now replacing with genuine

The amount of crap you have to go through is ridiculous, feel sorry for people
with actual houses damaged..

Hopefully the car will be ready to pick next next friday fingers crossed
it comes out perfect..

And I Hope everyone else with damage gets theres fixed without fuss.

Below are a couple of pics i took the day after.
