I think SAM24 said there is a tune for the 2.4 but it's not "refined" or something like that. RPW is after a 2.4 to do further work on it?

Pretty sure that's what it was.

RPW has Developed Defined Tunes for:
2.0L Manual
2.0L CVT
2.4L Manual

RPW only has an Un-Defined Tune for the 2.4L CVT.
I believe its a 2.0L CVT Tune slightly tweaked to simulate/suit a 2.4L CVT.

They Do-Not have a Fully Defined Tune since they have not been able to get a 2.4L CVT in thier workshop to develop one.
Despite Dave Thomas's requests and efforts, no one in WA has come forward and offered a 2.4L CVTn for development.

So those of us with a 2.4L CVT, still keep waiting.

Regards: Sam.

Not sure if the tunes are different for manuals and CVT automatics?

It would be great for RPW to get a 2.4L to test and tune properly so we all could benefit.

They're similar but slightly different.

It hasn't been lazyness on our part here in WA, its just all our club VRX's are manuals or 2.0Ls.

The manuels and CVT's run identical tunes.

We have done a tune for the 2.4's but its based off the 2.0 but it is different mapping. The CVT has not been significantly tweaked as we don't know the results of the changes.

Yes the very second we get a 2.4 (Somehow who would have thought they were so rare in WA) we will lete veryone know

Thanks for that update Dave,
And I'm sure you will look after that first person to show-up with a 2.4L CVT.

So if your a 2.4L CVT WA member reading this, you have a great opportunity to gain from Daves' expertese and improve your car at RPW's invitation.

I could make an announcement in the WA section?
Graham didn't feel much difference with his tune but I did so I'm happy to help other people get it :D

So you're offering a free tune to the first 2.4L CVT you can get your hands on?
And it'd take a day or so right?

yes and yes

The 2.4 will vary a lot more with the tune than the 2.0, as they are much more sensitive to modifications.

There will eventually be a range of tunes for the 2. 4and every customer woudl have to try one of say, three variations to find the one with the best results.

I'll make an announcement for you then... There is not a single 2.4L CVT that I'm aware of here yet though.

I'll inspect everyone's transmission on the cruise next Friday :P

Edit: Here we are:

Best of luck.

Happy to try and help, theres not a lot I can do besides assisting in organizing things. And its a quality product by my experience.

I do believe David has asked in the the WA chat thread before, but that thread is massive, the request is long gone by now :P
