Warning for EVO X Owners - Fuel Pump Relay Possible Issue

Postby Mitsiman » Thu Apr 22, 2010 1:20 pm

Its been well documented in the USA that the fuel pump relay which are black in colour, are failing and resulting in low fuel pressure and damaging motors on the EVO X / Ralliart Lancer models.

There have been two upgraded fuel pump relays in the states being a

Green - 8627A011 - 1st Revision
Blue - 8627A024 - 2nd revision (2010)

Comments from people replacing them is smoother idle, better running etc.

http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-x-gene ... e-4-a.html - more information

My question is to other Australian EVO X owners, has anyone noticed this. We are starting to tune a lot of EVO X and it is something to definitly check out.

I havn't had a chance yet to look, but what colour is the stock fuel pump relay in our Australian Delivered EXO X models. Is it black or green?

Mitsubishi Australia do not acknowledge the Blue part number, only the green for which there is only 1 in australia. I ordered it today to check, as I have another EVO X coming in next week for some big tuning.

Old news. I posted up about this in another thread on here as i changed the relays in my evo x just to be sure even though i wasnt having any AFR issues with myh car despite numerous dyno runs..... Oh and Dave i just bought 2 more of the green relays (for a friends evo) today.... there is still 17 of them sitting in the P&A warehouse...

Part number 8627A011

P.S. My evo had a black relay from factory

Thanks for that feedback, I didn't see any posts on several other evo forums so I thought it would be the right hting to update for everyone.

What is P&A Warehouse? Paceway Mitsubishi here only acknoweldge 1 in Australia (Why am I not surprised on this)

P&A warehouse is what we call the spare parts storage for MMAL. Correct name is PDC (parts dispatch centre).

When i was on the parts finder earlier today it listed 17 of those relay horn Part number 8627A011 available. That was onhand in the sydney PDC, there was also others sitting in stock at dealers through out the country :)

Some dealers just cant be bothered searching what stock is on hand at other dealerships.

That sounds like our dealership in perth, useless, not to mention they never stock anything in the perth warehouse. We are always having to pay for air freight all the time.

Yes go to any dealership and get it swapped out when you get a chance. Better safe than sorry
