Hi all,

Couple of quick questions. Have not owned my 10 mr for a week yet so still getting used to it and there is a couple of things I've noticed about the box.

First thing is when its in sport or and I'm using the paddles, when I take off I select second and it grabs third all by itself. Only gear that does it. Is that normal?

The second thing is, in sport or s sport, either the front diff or the box make a light clunk sort of noise when decelerating at low speed. It's not all the time and sounds kind of like locking the diffs on a 4x4

Like I said still getting used to it and want to make sure these things are normal!

Cheers,
Steve

mine doesnt do any of that but i have heard of sst`s doing strange things ( theres many threads on it) but selecting the wrong gear is totally unusual, i wouldnt worry though i assume its still under warranty?

not normal on both counts.... definitely let dealer know about it and make sure it gets logged against the VIN *just incase* something bad happens down the track

Are you taking off in auto sport then changing to 2nd? Or manual sport?
If I am in auto sport change to 2nd it can jump to 3rd like you are explaining. Its as though I change gear at the same time the auto does or a split second apart.

I have also heard the light clunk when braking. If I was not driving it I don't think I would notice. Only seems to do it when it drops back to 1st say I'm slowing down for a round about and then begin to accelerate. I have a Ralliart though.

Here is my idea on what could be happening.

- Take off in auto mode in 1st
- Shift into 2nd using paddles at over 4000rpm
- Car has already changed into 2nd because it is in auto mode, so hitting the paddles changes it into 3rd

I had a similar "issue" when I forgot to put it into manual mode at the drags. Shifted with the paddles from 1st at 7000rpm but the car had already shifted into 2nd the split second that I hit the paddles. Ended up having to change back to 2nd myself...

I can make mine do the same thing Sam

Thanks all. Have figured that it does it when is still in auto even if I use the paddles but only second to third, no other gears. Have put in full manual and it's fine. Sorry for the silly question! Evo noob
