Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-400

Postby Ozie » Wed May 27, 2009 11:57 pm

The Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-400, is the most potent Lancer ever offered by the factory.
The 400 here is a reference to the power produced by the turbocharged four-cylinder engine; 403 bhp to be exact.
All that force is transferred to all four wheels through Mitsubishi's advanced all-wheel drive system.
It helps to propel the four-door sedan to 100 kmh in under four seconds.
In addition to boosting the power, the Japanese company has also modified the chassis to match the increased performance.
Wider suspension has been fitted front and rear, considerably improving the handling characteristics.

CJ Lancer EVO X FQ-400
PRICE $106,000AUD

Damn $106000.00AUD
That’s commitment. I wonder how this thing goes against the new GT-R

Would love to pinch that rear vortex generator. Interesting that they put it on their because I heard our cars dont benifit from it.
Still, makes it looks mean.

Looks like they would get some ram air with that hole in the bumper for the intake.
Do pod filters actually help as much as much as people make out?
If they did why wouldn't all the exotics use them?

If properly shielded from engine heat they do breath better then a pannel. And the FQ at 400hp should produce enough speed for the VG to work

That is pure sex I love the front intake- looks very purposeful. I do wonder what are the risks involved if crap gets in there though.

I mean the little gap in the bumper for the air intake. I've seen it on heaps of previous gen Evo's and other modified cars to get more air in directly... I suppose if it leads 100% into a pipe which leads to a pod filter, then even if dust/crap gets in, it will just build up either within the pipe or in the airbox/outside the filter.

to answer the question about the intake on the fq x.

even the stock intake on our X gets a lot of debris in there. on my previous service we found leaves and even small sticks trapped in there. its not that i don't clean it very often its more to do with the design of the inlet and a large amount of mountain driving :D . with that in mind theres no real need to change from a panel filter to a pod as there is more than enough air flowing into the engine as is. i have run both a pod filter with intake box on my car and a drop in panel filter. although the pod filter made a few extra horses initially. after a bit of tuning there was no extra power to be gained from going a pod over a panel filter.

hope that helps
