Hi not going with (mineral oil flush out) just drain oil and cooler i read about putting in to each gear after refilling, but have not heard about the 20 second thing?????? Gary




Are you following the guide(s) that says to flush with mineral oil, or the guide(s) that says to lift all 4 wheels off the ground, sgift into each of the gears for 20 seconds when draining?!

It wasn't anywhere close to 7.5l for me, (a little over 6.5l came out of mine).

18lb/ft torque each of the hex nuts (drain & fill bolts) on the SST. Just about the only bolts on my car that's torqued correctly - everything else was extra tightened by the dealer on prev occasions.

Ok peoples! First sample has been tested! Big thank you to Don (Black_art) for sending the Liqui Moly!

When I get the other samples to compare with I'll make up a dedicated thread and put it as a sticky.

sweet, i did hear a member here used it but he sold the car so we dont know how it would of been long term

martini fluid actually is yellow... a lot like pentosin. Hrmmmm... I need to have some sitting next to each other to confirm.

Not sure how long until I have results, depends on when samples turn up, how busy I am at work etc. This is a comparative test only. I don't work in an oil testing lab, so I don't have a lot of the specialized equipment to measure things like friction reduction etc.

I have access to equipment that I can used to determine a number of physical properties, and some chemical properties. So by comparing all the other samples to the Diaqueen, we should be able to get a pretty accurate idea how similar the others are. I'm 99% certain that if 2 samples are the same, I'll be able to prove it :D

so right now we have :
OEM - green
LiquiMoly - ??
HKS - green
Martini - yellow/golden
Ford - ?green?

We know pentosin FFL-2 and SSP Gold are, erm Gold. it makes me wonder somewhat about the Martini stuff aswell :) be keen to see them side by side in the same jars.

Ford we strongly suspect is BOT fluid from Castrol. which we also strongly suspect is Castrol Transmax Dual.

Dodson also market an SST fluid and i'm trying to get specs and/or info on it at the moment

LiquiMoly is a light brown sort of colour. Similar to engine oil I guess.

I'll get a photo of all the oils side by side when I receive them.
