I haven't gone through all 7 pages lol, but is there an option for the 2.4 vrx CVT yet? What are the issues, gains and costs?

fascinating read.

so, if im understanding this right, you are essentially turning a VRX into a car that will match and possibly better, for arguments sack, a ralliart/evo

wow, just wow :) since i have got my VRX i have been considering getting rid of it in about 18 months and upgrading to a Ralliart, but if you can turn a stock VRX into something similair for around 15k, i will seriously consider that.

my only gripe with the Ralliart, is it doesnt come in the Gunmetal Grey Color. which i love and reckon the car itself looks brillant with that color.

keep us posted mate. im extremelly interested in this :)

a couple of questions, what Lancer do you have (if you dont mind me asking)

the 2.0L VRX or the 2.4L VRX

Is there any further work on the CVT 2.0L Version (my model)

wow, this forum is amazing, to hear what some people have done with their cars is superb :)

well done all :)

I would personally love to turbo my lancer and if i had the money i would do it without question. But being 16 i can only dream...

Top stuff mate. Thumbs up

yeah he has achieved heaps with his car tadz, i think its the best looking CJ in Sydney...it is beeeeeaaauuutiful.

he has been let down very badly by his Turbo Manufacturer/supplier in the states.
this has been a huge let down..for him.
a lot of dollars are involved,
I hope he get this shit sorted with them soon...

Me too man...I really wanna see what the lancer is capable of.

I know a few people rag on the FWD, i personally dont care. But there has to be a limit to the amount of power you can turn through those front wheels.

Watching a program on Foxtel, blood sweat and gears. They have a FWD ford laser. Hes wheel spinning all the way through 4th gear. Reading through this thing i saw somehting like 350WHP...thats a pants load of hp going to those front wheels.

Dont get me wrong, pheonix is awesome for doing this to his car...but is there any point puting that much power..? or would it better to just put like 250hp so the car can actually put the power down?

tuned ralliart? for ~2500 AUD, 15% over an EVO? See ralliart thread. So for <15k over a VRX..... you have AWD, SST, ok you are light on on the brakes. Second step...work a little more on exhaust. Boring but effective?

yeah, but i already own the VRX ;)

whats the best you could expect to get back for a VRX.

get 20k for it in a trade in, if that, Ralliart costs 45k (with the add ons i want)

looking at around 25k extra, and would there be a massive difference between a turned VRX as suggested here, and a Ralliart stock?

so 15k v 25k

rofl - im not hugely bothered by super performance ... but ive always wanted to own a cool car :)

effects grey ralliart sedan, and im in, but until that comes i think i may go the same route phoenix is sugesting :)

(sorry to hi-jack, just thinking outloud)

p.s. sucks to hear about the issues Phoenix, hope it all works out for you, im fascinated by what you are attempting.

I wouldn't mind this on the 2.4 manual
Traction probs yes - but still a load of fun
Can always fit an LSD to help...........
