I'm in about the same problem.

I've blown my 2.0 engine, but want to swap in a 2.4L engine( from a 2010 Lancer GTS).

Since the engine does not come with ECU, it probabley mean i'll have to put @ 2.4 ROM in my 2.0 ECU.

Can i just take any 2010 lancer GTS, read the ecu, and flash it on my computer, or do i have to change the "ROM number" (like 53220003) to fit my current rom ??

I have all that is needed to do the job, but want to have as much info as possible, cause i don't want to end up bricking my ECU

you can just cut and paste the VE, fuel and timing parameters into your own rom and it will work I'd say

I'll for sure read my friend's 2010 GTS to give it a try !
