sorry but I can't help for this as this is a non-genuine, non-oem item.
There are cheaper kits all the time and it will end up as a how long is a piece of string argument.

Yeah just throwing my options out there. Will most likely go with it anyway.

One of these: http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC8424/13-3-quot-ux31e-zenbook

The above link is the cheapest I've been able to find it. I should add that as I'm going overseas in January I will be able to claim 10% (the GST) at the airport if I buy in Australia. So although the price is $1,447, I'll effectively be paying $1,302.

On a bit of a side note, would this laptop handle the logging software for Merlin to tune my car? If so, I might have to invest in a tactrix cable :D

So....

I am after Black Lug Nuts for the VRX rims. Just want to make sure I get the right ones... My mate who works in a tyre shop said they are a little different to usual ones? Is that right?

Item: Tactrix openport 2.0
http://www.tactrix.com/index.php?option ... &Itemid=53
$US170 + delivery.

Found some v1.3 on ebay, eg. item no. 360396439262. Not much cheaper. IIRC I came across an Aust based car aftermarket store that have local stock, sold them for $299 or so, plus delivery. Can't for the life of me remember which site it was...

And then further googling came up with this thread:
http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=7274
..which was mere weeks before I bought my Lancer!

End goal: monitor intake air temps, AFR and boost levels without needing separate gauges and asosciated installed sensors and wiring. I figure spending the $200 upfront, would pay for itself in saved fuel costs in a month or two as well.

@BZC-45S: The Tactrix is on the list of GB items.

There is not much cheaper nor more reliable than buying direct from the Tactrix site.

You could also get it from the Evoscan boys in NZ but it's slightly more expensive last I remembered.

It's unlikely you'll find one more than US$50 cheaper because it's only made by one company and its distributed by them, they only have one other onward distributor.

The rest of the fellas on eBay selling them, simply do their own private group buys and then on sell.

$1788 + $15 Oz wide shipping

Another alternative at the moment is to buy a Pioneer AV player without sat nav but is sat nav compatible and buy the hidden GPS unit from the pioneer website which is floor stock/scratch and dent but $529 instead of $999
