OEM parts and new chief buyer questions.

I am trying to find a Lancer strut brace part number 5220C160 and the price I was quoted from a dealer was almost double the CCJ price on OEM part thread so I have a few questions that I haven't been able to find in other posts.

Parts and prices in that OEM thread are they only available to premium members as it is considered a group buy?

Are the prices and thread still relevant now there is a new chief buyer?

Is there a way to get discounted parts from club sponsors or is that also only for premium members/chief buyer to arrange? ie. dropping the Club CJ name is not good enough/shouldn't be done unless premium member.

Thanks for any answers as the OEM brace is hard to find, I don't want aftermarket, but I also don't want to spend heaps and would rather try support local businesses/people.

Mitsubishi parts were bought through the old chief buyer, Ofey. Ofey set up an account as a business and received a discount for parts because of the amount purchased throughout the year.

I suggest you PM, email, ring or contact through the Vic facebook page as I'm sure he will still have his account.

The other option is to buy aftermarket which will probably be cheaper and better.

But perhaps you might consider one of the best ever designed for the current Lancer .... :o
It's all Hi Tensile Alloy construction with Load Adjustable Threaded End Link Mounts.

WHITELINE Front Strut Brace .... KSB638

Whiteline RRP ... $204.50 .... :)
EBay Seller ...... $192.99 .... :D

+1 Sam. Why don't you want aftermarket? Whiteline are a specialist in struts and will make a better strut than the OEM Mits one

I am sure there are plenty of members who will swap their oem strut brace for a Whiteline

Thanks all for the replies and info.

The reason I'd prefer to stick with OEM as opposed to aftermarket is because my mod philosophy has been to spec up the car not so much upgrade, most of what I've done has been in consideration to if it is available on higher spec models and easily obtainable at wreckers or bought new (A useless venture money-wise but a good learning experience).

The brace is kinda the last thing that would be easy to do even if it's effect is minimal.
