small disks? Mine are 300mm diameter. That is stock size, and the stock brakes are good enough anyway, just need slight upgrade.

And if we were to increase the disk size, we do run into trouble relocating the caliper etc

So its just easier to upgrade to better disks and pads, as they're still daily drivers anyway.

Remember these wheels are 18" so it makes the discs look pretty small. By comparison the CJ has pretty decent sized brakes.

I wasn't sure, which is why I asked about it :)

The 18's just make them look ridiculously small, even smaller if you had after market wheels that let you see more of the brakes.

Nah, VRX brakes are still puny. It's just the OEM wheels that hide this.

So you are comparing a minimum $100,000 AMG merc to a sub $30k Lancer!!!

I can go and spend big bucks on Brembos or AP's as well and have bigger disks, but at the end of the day this is my daily drive and even my ES stops pretty good for what it is :)

I never mentioned cost, I mentioned size and how it appears to the eye :)

Well done now, I'm locking this thread till the next brakes and rotors buy.

[Update 2 Nov 2009]
Just for everyone to know, a set of rotors and Greenstuff pads as I bought for most VRXs and above were A$430.

The updated price to this is now A$450.00 and are available anytime.

Ofey can you update the list with RA brake discs and pads as they are different to VRX?

I would be interested in those.

For those who have RAs or their callipers, It's a very confusing issue for the pads. Please see:

For RA sizing issues, please read:
Front/rear Brake Info
or
RalliArt Brakes
or
2009 Ralliart - Brake Guide

If you can figure things out, please provide:

RA Pads:
Front-
Greenstuff = ???
Redstuff = ???

Rear-
Greenstuff = ???
Redstuff = ???

RA Rotor size
Front =??
Rear = ??

Just to give you guys a heads up.

If you are looking at doing any track days etc, I would strongly recommend the red stuff from the EBC range.

I had the green stuff from the last group buy and they just couldn't cope. If you are not being too hard on your brakes, the green stuff will certainly suffice.
