Hi all,
those involved will need to vote again.

We have 2 options to proceed now.

1. BV400G V2+PMP+GD = A$290 (NOW)
2. BV500G V2+PMP+GD = A$340 (1month lead time)

Yes it is V2. The current 500Gs are V1. A new V2 will be arriving in about 1 month's time.

I'm inclined to wait but I'm happy to proceed if majority rules.

The 500 has Wi-Fi, so you can use your smart phone as a view finder or to review recorded videos. I don't think this is possible on the 400.

The 500 also has no a/v out anymore

http://coretech.com.au/category/news/ has some info about both models.

In the wise words of a technophobe caveman:

Me cast vote 400.
Me like a/v out.
Me grrr WIFI, grrr less working $%&$.

edit:

On serious note though, I've got the JVC-EX255 wifi camcorder and it was touted as being great yeehaa awesome WIFI on your phone via APP, but in reality it sort of works most of the time, laggy and cumbersome.

I have A/V in on my 7" doubledin so prefer the AV connection to view the camera :)

The $290 is for the 400 camera ($239) + the power magic pro ($32) + shipping ($19). The $340 is for the 500 camera + shipping + power magic pro.

Going by the prices ofey has given for the 400 the cost of the 500 is under $300, rrp is over $380

Sorry for my lateness, but I'll be in for two of the BV500G V2+PMP+GD if it's possible!

Don't mind the wait.

Thanks Irving!

OK I should sort out the quotes.

The 400 + PMP +Delivery should work out at A$275 per person in a group delivery. The current negotiation is A$270 for a PMP+400. You work out how much group post is especially if you want things insured.
I'm wondering where I had ever said A$255 for a 400 + PMP +GD was.

The 500 + PMP + Delivery should work out 20-25% more, so say A$60 more, we'll be at A$340-A$350.

From what I've been discussing with the seller, I'm really inclined to go for the 500 model. The overheating issue in the 400s are very very troubling.

Sorry to let the team down, but I need to withdraw for this Group Buy.

Reason being my Wallet is hungry and feeling way too empty and although it would be neato to have the 500 in my car and record the many ridiculous incidences of stupidity on the public roads (such as yesterday with the oncoming Forester waiting for a right turn at the lights, who decided it was a great idea to make his turn the moment it turned amber (because he may have some sort of personal complex of people running red lights - heck I hate red light runners as much as the next person but fuck NO I don't drive in front of them)thus FORCING me to slow down enough to avoid colliding with him even though I was travelling at or below the posted speed limit because I had a fully loaded car coming back from a day at the park AND carrying an INFANT and I have 17 years driving experience and know that piece of road well enough to know the amber light remained amber long enough for me to cross the intersection and make it through the intersection before the light turns red thus allowing him to make his right turn.) Would have been nice to confront him with video evidence or shame him on the youtubez.)

I am really looking forward to seeing the 500 HD installed and running perfectly in your cars though :)

I think the voting is unanimous.
I've written to the sellers now to say we'll go for a Blackvue 500.
I'll start a new thread for the purchase.
