Sorry on my part too.

I see.
Can you just tell me which is the outstanding part number from the 2 your dealer provided?

My suggestion is not to buy the Mitsu part.

Please consider getting them through our site sponsor X-Factor Design. Shadows will be more than willing to give you a great price on these:

Front Airdam Extension
1) Material: Polypropylene & Polyethylene Plastic Injection Finishing
2) Weight: Front Airdam Extension 2.5KG
3) Installations Guide
4) Prices AUD 196.50

For my money I doubt the Mitsubishi part is anywhere near that price.

I got a set of side air dams off Shadows to replace a damaged one on my VRX and the fit of his is identical to the OEM ones. Not to mention his colour match is as close to perfect as you're ever going to get after the car leaves the factory, much better than I've seen done on other blue CJs by local spray painters!

What I had suspected is right... .
Parts Guy @ Preston Motors wrote:v) Olympic Ed./Aspire Front Grill Set
i)7450A462 GRILLE-RADIATOR (MAIN GRILLE) = (A$246.00)
ii) 6400C109 GRILLE-FR BUMPER-M-SILVER(M LOWER GRILLE) = (A$88.00)
iii) 6400C043 GARNISH-FR BUMPER-CTR-CHROME (LOWER GRILLE SURROUND) = (A$182.00)
Total = A$516.00

You will need all three parts.
Part i) is self explanatory, it replaces the whole of the top front grill one for one.
Part ii) is just the grill for the lower part in Silver.
Part iii) is the chrome surround for it.
They're NOT connected. Silly isn't it?

I suspect why your guy's dealer quoted him 2 parts is because either a)he thought you can go without the lower chrome surround and reuse some of the old bit OR b) he completely didn't realise parts ii) and iii) are seperate.

So if you're after the exact look of the Olympics/Aspires, you'll need all 3.

Just an update for those interested, due to the strength of the A$:

w) Lancer & Evolution X Ralliart Black Tail Lamps
Image
Price: A$580.00 (Shipped!! from USA)

Background:
I just paid about A$570 for ChrisB today.
I collect A$580 due to fluctuations in the FOREX rates and will return any excess.
ChrisB paid me A$600 for the set so I'll be refunding him something like A$30 once the dealer ships.

Anyone else up for this?

Would you know if the AUD price of $196.50 was for the pair and whether or not that included painting & shipping? Certainly is cheaper than Mitsu, they quoted me $220 each (painted but not fitted).

Thanks very much for following it up - I suspect your supplier (our sponsor Preston Motors!) is right and I was quoted only two parts (lost the bit o paper I wrote them on sorry) as they werent familiar with the two-piece oddity for the lower grille.

I think that price is for a pair in your quoted paint color.
I doubt it includes shipping though.
PM Shadows to be sure!

Is there a chance that members may be able to get the steering wheel audio controls through this deal with Preston Motors? It would be great for ES owners, I myself would love to get them.

I will ask the question.
Can you confirm that the part is plug and play ? i.e. the wiring loom is already there, just need the buttons?

Ash06 confirmed that he did it in his ES in the thread I created here: http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=1319.

I can't remember who he got it from (someone on the forum who upgraded their audio), but it was quoted at $120.00 from Mitsubishi for the control panel from memory.

Our parts guy @ Preston has had his computer die on him so we're all going to be abit delayed here.

I will say that all orders for this Friday may well be delayed till next week. Please understand.

As for your request LonePhantom, I've sent him an email and spoke to him over the phone earlier. He will source the part out but you will have to get it to work yourself. No refund.

Steering wheel harness is the same on all Lancers so the plugs are there.

Ofey can you check a price on the boot protector? Plastic thing that sits outside the car on the bumper.

I may be interested in a boot liner too, though I think postage would be a killer so may investigate that on my end. Seems like it would be very costly to post.
