51 pieces.
Nett loss of A$780.00 overall.

Turned out to be a pretty horrific group buy. At A$700+ there was so much interest. Then when I brought it in so many pulled out.

Then people asking for deals. Some person NEVER paying me for his and never passing on the money other people paid him for lamps. So in the end I had to sell those people lamps at a lower price. Lies within lies.

Then now we have a new sponsor coming on who is going to be offering them for A$350 delivered. Almost 1 yr on. The company are also offering to sell them to me for much less but now I can't see myself holding 50 units again.

Good grief! I'm grateful its all gone.

Will be announced once they decide to pay the vendor or sponsorship fees. or when Shane and Chris collect the money from them.

MP Trader is the only other people I've seen selling them for $350 a pop....

I think you'll find that MP Trader want GST and Postage on top of that.
our new sponsors will ship it to you for A$350 flat!

All those who were first on the scene like MP Trader and ourselves paid the going rate of the lamps when they first came out. Now 1 yr on, the manufacturer has dropped the price. So if you sea freight + done everything at the right time, you could have got these lamps stupidly cheap.

Sorry to hear your story. Irviny you are doing a great job, it's sad to know it ended up like this. Might need to think of a better way in organising a group buy. What if you ask to put in a deposit first before you make the order?

These lamps were done at the start of the club. Most of the initial group were close and pretty tightly knit and I trusted everyone.

I usually trust everyone I meet. If you were here in Melbourne, you'd realise I buy stuff for everyone here on credit. Some of the kids even pay for their stuff in installment.

Just seems that people outside Melbourne aren't as reliable... . Perhaps Australia isn't really homogeneous... .

We will always meet bumps and stuff here and there. What goes around comes around. So I think karma will come back and bite these people ... .

Also sad to hear this GB took so long and brought on so many difficulties for you mate. I think it's probably best that we as a group stick to the cash upfront and no credit route unless you really want to personally vouch for someone. Safer this way.

It's not a question of vouching. Companies don't do 10-20 sets as a group buy. 55 was their starting gambit. Then everyone wanted it fast so air freight was necessary.

I sold 20 in the first month with people again questioning the A$400 price when they were originally quoted A$700 from a Singaporean re-seller at the time. So suddenly all the sales stopped cos people thought since it dropped over A$300 it'll drop even more!

As I said, I'm not going to do anymore group buys until someone clears my leftovers.

Congratz on finally being rid of these Ofey ... annoying that for all the hassle you went through you also lost money. These things were the first I bought when I got my Lancer and joined the forum. I'm sure a lot of us appreciate your efforts. You need a blacklist :)

Irving.. people outside Melbourne have been trustworthy too... you guys don't have a monopoly on that!

Kids..? yeah, he wasn't referring to all of us...

I am trying to help you clean up your leftovers.. can't put anything more on the car unless you have some freaky good parts left I have not known about!! Or, that I haven't bought from you already...
