Melbourne Performance centre are actually an off road and race track modification, fabrication and tuning specialist company. Meaning they can repair a busted up lamborghini race rig in their workshop. Believe me I've seen it. They have a Welding room, Fabrication room, paint room and Mainline 4wd Rolling road dyno. And a work shop floor you could eat your lunch off.

They sell all brands for road or race and what ever you ask for they will attempt to get and they wont give you false hope by promising unrealistic numbers when tuning.

MPC own and race several cars. They have 2 Lambo Murcialgo Race Cars, in the production cup. "VODKA LAMBO"S"
2 or 3 Clubman Minis which they have one several events with.
And a yellow Maserati not sure what model it is but its a monster.

Looking forward to meeting up with them Next Monday, (dropping my car off for a tune too) :-) I will keep you all informed on the outcome, but im hopefully going to be able to get us some cheap tuning/parts and invites to there track testing days also. *fingers Crossed*

All in all I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with MPC and the work they have done to my RA has been excellent. Everything is fully explained and documented so they know your car when you return.

It is so hard to find a good mechanic or tuner these days, These guys know their stuff and you wont be disappointed with their quality of work or price.

MPC's sponsorship will be an asset to the club.

I will be discussing Stage packages for the standard 2.0 Lancer the VRX 2.4 and the RA.
So for melbourne members I may have some solid power upgrades and prices for you soon.

Before you get too carried away, discuss this with Ozie...

Sorry SIR police man, Geeez. I have to find out what they are going to offer the club before I can put any cards on the table. Nothing's in stone yet. I will keep the people who need to know informed and discuss it with them before any sponsorship deal is finalised.

Yeah and they will. But I need to mount a proposal to ozie before anything has happened. This i'd imagine is similar to a business deal. Idea, info, proposal, deal. It will all be above the law pettle ;)

SIR-VRX wrote:Bob is on the money.

there are 2 rev limits in the car.

1. Stationary - When the car is sitting still, say at Traffic lights. Standard around 5250
2. Normal - When you're driving. Standard around 6500

Lowering the stationary limit to say 3000 provides a launch function. So You can then left-foot brake, mash the throttle and the engine will sit at 3000 and when you let go of the brake, you're off.

The car won't engage the clutch until the brake is released, but when it does it's harder than normal take off, so wear and tear is higher. Not recommended for repeated use.

Safe to leave the RPM limit at that level all the time though, as it only functions at that low level when the car is stationary, including revving the car when in Park and Neutral.

@ Bob, you have a Tactrix, but do you have a definition file for your ECU?

I have the definition file if anyone needs it!

Welcome to the UR club mate. It's a great exhaust and you'll love the sound.

Do you know what Melb Performance charge for a dyno run?

Am interested in getting mine tested now I've retuned my car through TTP.

Oh yeah, Im lovin that burble!

They charged me $1000 for 2 days on and off the dyno as I was their first RA. They wanted to see the before and after with stock exhaust and before and after with the HKS system they fitted, just to get an idea of the numbers. Lee has tuned a massive amount of Evo X's but never a RA so I guess I was the guinea pig :-) Great results though :-)

As I posted earlier, ill talk to them next monday and find out the total cost for you. But i'd say between $500 to $1000 depending on Dyno time.

Don't need a tune, ive got that so just after the dyno run. Most companies charge $50 - $100 for a couple of pulls. Am sure I'm up to 200 atw but just want to see it on a graph along with the torque figure.

If you can find out that would be great

Sure thing mate. Ill let you know but im not sure if they do power pulls as they are quite a busy shop. There's cars on the Dyno 6 Days a week. But theres no harm in asking anyways. 200kw @all 4's? Wow, thats what im going for on tuesday. Should tell the difference between the HKS and UR systems.
Ill post up the dyno sheet tuesday.

Did you get the high flow cat and downpipe?

Since we have the same mods it would be great to see what the end power difference is between the two tunes?

yeah true....I didnt get the down pipe as according to MPC this down pipe is the same diameter as the evo x. Just different mounting sizes at the turbo. And there pulling much bigger numbers (with tuning) and more boost than the RA so I didnt bother. I installed the high flow cat though.
