Signature banners

Could we perhaps discuss reducing the size limits on image banners used in signatures?! eg. limited to 800x150 pixels or something... As it stand, at times the poster's signatures are double or triple in size to their messages posted to forum threads.

There is already a 'garage' feature in which to show off one's cars, and a dedicated forum for posting a gallery images, etc. It seems unnecessary to have massive sig banners attached to the bottom of each post, esp keeping in mind some may visit this site primarily on tablets, netbooks or smaller viewing devices that aren't desktop computers with big 1920x1080 screen res on which this is not that big of a deal.

I know I'm not a spam-whore on these forums, and I don't visit everyday, etc. nor do I support the site through premium membership - so I don't know if my voice should rightfully be heard, but it just irks me as it has other forums on which large image banners in sigs detracts from the viewing experience of a mainly text based forum.

There is this in the club rules:

9.1.4. Signatures
This is a block of text or Image, which can be added to the posts members make. There is a 255 character limit, and the Signature Image can be no Wider than 400 pixels & no Higher than 120 pixels. Advertising in a signature is allowed only if the member is;
A ClubCJ Sponsor.
A ClubCJ Vendor.

I too have noticed some peoples signatures are huge!

Well said Chi,some of the photos some people are using are quite large and it is a pain when you are scrolling through a topic.I too think it is about time something is done about it.As you said we have a garage to put photos of our cars.Hopefully there may be some self regulation with this and people will remove the offending items

I bet you say that to all the girls Tomo!

I agree that some of the images are a bit on the large-size; the size of the avatars are limited, so it shouldn't be impossible to limit the size of the signature image...?

I figure as long as the image doesn't cause the post to become longer than the boxes in the left-hand margin already are should be reasonable...

I didn't know it was set out in the club rules Shannon, thanks for point that out.

This is an example of 400 by 120 pixels:

I think that's a reasonable size.... Tomo your 'meatsticks' passes the test. ;) I'd love to see people self regulate and adhere to the rules already set forth, and reduce their sigs to the appropriate size. Feel free to hate me and 'shoot the messenger' in this instance if it helps.
