My poor Ralliart :-(

Postby DavidAnthony » Thu Jan 07, 2010 2:15 pm

This is what I got for Christmas last year :(

The side that got hit

The wheel that hit the gutter.

The other car

Cars at the smash repairer now, Regoli Smash in Campsie.
I told my insurance assessor I don't care where I have to take the car as long as they fix it 100% and he assured me that they will fix it 110% so time will tell how good this place actually is.

Anyone heard anything about Regoli Smash in Campsie that can calm my nerves?

Who was at fault?

Make sure your repairer organises wheel alignment for the car as well!

Hitting the gutter will have affected the wheel alignment..

yeah and i'd suggest to the insurance company to send it to a reputable mechanic, just to make sure nothing's bent underneath...tie rods etc.

Sorry to see that man.....i'd be crying :-(

The other guy was at fault.

I was going down a 2 lane road in the left lane and that guy was stoped behind someone turning right in the right lane. I must have been in his blind spot or he didn't bother looking but he pulled out and I had no chance of stopping in time.

The repairer tells me they are doing a wheel alignment.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Geez that is not good for xmas, I almost had a horror story myself on the way to Brissy. I was driving out the auto roller door as it shorted and started coming done on top of me, just missing getting snagged on the spoiler. Anyway mate hope it comes back in show room condition.

Oh, surprise! The other car is a Toyota (looks like a Corolla Seca or something). sorry, I have a strong predjudice against toyota drivers, specifically camry and sedan variant corollas, echos and yaris. They're the worst drivers.

Of course the other driver did not bother to shoulder check and/or judge your approach, the sad thing is that the other driver's car seems to have gotten off lightly with less damage. Grrrrr

Anyway, I hope it all works out for you. I'm surprised that the headlamp assembly didn't break, they must be tough! :)

Hay I was a camry driver for 5 years before the lancer and I have never had an accident. :) :)

EDIT: I do have a lot of accidents when driving the volvo though (Volvo is a demolition derby car, that could have something to do with it).

Yeh it's strange, the headlight plastic on the outside only got scratched but if you look closely the inside of the headlamp is all cracked.

Well I could correct my statement to make it factually correct, but then it would come across as not exactly politically correct or as some might bleat "racist". :(
