My wifes damage tally for Nov - Bad month for my CJ

My wife (the poor car) has had a really bad month.

1. scratched (bad) all the front air-dam - drove into a ditch

2. Left rear rim hit, 3 inch long scratch - she doesn't know what she hit.

3. Rear bumper damaged when she reversed into another car (only half her fault, other car was reversing as well)

4. Front left rim - side swiped a big rock. Took a piece out of the rim.

On the funny side, I wonder what sort of damage she is going to do the right hand side of the car?

Anyone looking at selling 2 VRX rims in the new year.

Shammmeeee.

My mom has scuffed my wheels numerous times. Not to mention all the fingernail scratches in the door handle recesses

fingernail scratches - got those too - but I wax under the door handles after I wash the car and it seems to help.

I wouldn't mind too much, but the car is just over 2 months old and it's my pride and joy. It's been over 15 years since my last brand new car.

Damn, that's unlucky. Next month will probably be dedicated to the right side of the car. ;)

I actually do have 4 VRX rims in my garage. Undamaged, barely used.

Are they forsale? If so, how much?

I won't have any extra money until Late Feb/March. (Xmas/kids/holidays)

At least that gives her time to damage the right side.

I don't mind selling them, but frankly, I have no idea of the going rate. :X

There are always a few who are amybe looking for a full size 'spare' who might spit the cost of 4 with you.... Others have sold their wheels here. Must be some threads

I think the going rate is around $600-$900 depending on the condition and wear on the tires

Sorry to hear about the damage mate. Not much you can do though. Mine has copped a fair bit over the 2 years I've had it! You should see my airdams!!

I've been practicing parking well clear of those concrete 'stops' in some parking spaces, and curbs when parking 'nose-in' at curbs. I plan to lower 'Max' at some point so I figured I'd get the hang of not 'touch parking' while I still have it stock height and no body kit to scratch up. :)

Sorry to hear! My front airdam underneath is crazy scratched, you can't see it from normally looking at it but if you pop your head under all you see is scratches, it's crazy!

I hope it's the last of your wifes damage though

Better driving skills should help solve the issues, really.

The Simple solution is obvious,.........don't let her drive your car!!!

If you had to replace rims and fix those dents and scratches at panel beaters u would be up for over 2-3 grand right??

If someone repeatedly had accidents and incidents like that I'd call their concentration and situational awareness whilst driving into Question. Sounds like some more instruction and awareness training is reqd.

How long before it is not minor but major??? You certainly dont want someone u love having any accidents, let alone a major one.
