Have you been labelled a girl for driving a lancer?

Feel free to weigh in on the current and extremely aggravating thread full of immature bastards... as long as your answer is in the negative :-)

(Not that there's anything wrong with being a girl)

I guess people just have differing views...each to their own. I think the Lancer just overall doesn't have much credibility in the car scene especially among car enthusiasts.

We've got a healthy number of V8's at work, they're always calling my RA a girls car and asking me where did mitsubishi put the other 4 cylinders. They're just taking the piss out of me and it's all in good fun.

That's a good question..i'm not too sure to be honest. But if you think about it, how many NA Lancers do you see in car magazines or online JDM car enthusiast forums like JDMST etc.? People might think its to do with how fast your car is but I dont think thats the case. I've seen many build threads in magazines/websites for slower cars than the Lancer stock for stock such as EG/EK civics.

I think there's just a massive negative stigma associated with the NA lancers. This is my personal view but I think it sorta stems from the way people have modded lancers up in the past. You see so many lancers, especially the older generation lancers, with evo bodykits, local bob jane wheels and just really tacky mods and I think this has built up the lancer's reputation to the way it is today.

People worry way too much about others... Like when I was driving my 00 excel with weathered paint, and dents... Had someone in a beat up VN laughing at me.. I waved and smiled, knowing what else I had in the driveway to drive :)

I see plenty of females driving falcons, and commodores too. It doesn't make them a chick car...

Just tell them the other 4 cylinders are in their car so they can keep up with yours :P

Doesn't matter what you drive you will always be labeled as something bad.

When I think of a girl's car, I think of cars in the compact class. Fiesta, Mazda2, Yaris etc.
The Corolla would be at the top of my feminine small cars, but primarily because of the amount of female drivers I see in them. Otherwise, other small cars seem pretty universal.
