wow i never let mine go much below half a tank. mainly becuase theres a good chance ill get caught up in some kind of 'spirited' driving against against another 'spirited' driver. and if i do that on a 1/4 of a tank om nom nom game over.

my partners car on the other hand lives with the fuel light on drives me nuts!

Yeah I meant the actual colt, didn't realise its finished production so I guess its not current gen. Final gen maybe? :)

Sounds like a lot of people have been underestimating how much fuel they have left when the fuel gauge is empty in their CJs :P

My mum always fuels up at about a quarter tank in her falcon. Frustrates me a bit but then again she has a long, traffic-heavy drive to work. I guess it depends on your circumstances.

I don't consider sediment etc to be a big issue. Petrol is VERY clean, and the tank is always being shaken. I've always thought the rule was just 'don't run out of fuel' not 'don't get really close'.

Well I've learnt something today, there is a second warning. I've only ever gone to fuel warning light once maybe twice I always fill up at quarter tank.

I feel the same, the fuel pump is filtered, the fuel rail is filtered, and the fuel pickup is at the bottom of the tank anyway, so if gunk has settled to the bottom it's going to be there regardless of how much is in the tank. I call worrywarts.
