Any one seen the new leather hand brake?
Supposed to be on sale today.

I'm not so bothered since the driver door latch can also lock up and it's not that far away... .

Plus the fact that mine has the auto folding function button on my mirror adjust console so not too bothered.



I dont get why they didnt put this in when the lancer first came out... i mean cars 10+ years ago had this? Why bother now?

Maybe it's law OS and not her in Aus?? To avoid all those car jackin' gang bangers in Compton....

Agreed the Falcon had it in at least 2002 and other cars probably earlier, but like others have said - if you must drive around with the doors locked, it's very easy to press the lock switch on the driver's door and it does the same thing!

My 96 Corolla already has this feature. What irritates me is the fact that everything unlocks if the driver's door is opened. I hope this isn't the case next year.

Hi everyone,

im currently looking at the MY09 models, trying to pick one up cheap so i can get a VRX!

just FYI, the dealer was telling me there is a $2,500 bonus off the MY09 models now from Mits as they are trying to clear these models. He told me (when i spoke to him on the 19th) they were not in stock yet but were on their way currently.

He also had a memo from the higher powers and went through the list of extra features... he didnt seem to know what some of them even meant and didn't seem to think they added much to the car.

personally, if i can get it a bit cheaper im happy to take the MY09 model.

now im new here and everything and i don't want to hi-jack this thread but just an interesting question... with the current bonus off MY09 models of $2,500, are the extra features on the MY10 model worth $2,500? what are people's thoughts on this??

In your other thread you already said you were at the top of your price bracket. So why ask anymore? just get the MY09. It's still a 2.4L engine.

The A$2500 is made up largely of aesthetics like the new display unit and covers and lids for the insides of the car.

However, 2 things which have changed that may not get as much coverage are :

a) The insulator front windscreen
and
b) The change of the tensile strength in metal used for the body of the car.

Ofey, i was not asking for more advice, i am going to get the my09, i was simply wanting to know how much people valued those features which are additional... out of interest.

i was encouraged to post lots and i thought this was an appropriate place to see what people thought.

Sorry if I sounded brash. I didn't intend it. I was merely saying that there's little point asking if you've hit the top of your price bracket. Then I went on to justify that A$2500 for aesthetics is not worth it in my opinion.

No please POST LOTS!! I'm not discouraging you from asking.

Just my 2 cents. Let's wait and see what others advise you.

i know i'm at the top of my bracket... i too am of the opinion it is not worth it also and i will not be easily swayed as it is the difference between me affording the car and not affording.

My asking was not in search of advice, just thought it was an interesting topic.

Stronger or flimsier? I'm going down the MY10 path, but would like to know about this bit.

I'd assume stronger tensile strength? Hopefully now they need less metal so a lighter lancer?
